Scared of Netaji 's Success Britishers established Laore Mint ( in 1942 ) on an Emergency basis. Lahore Mint was established by the British in 1943 ( Mint Mark "L" ). The British feared that the Azad Hind Fauj ( INA )under Netaji Subhash Chander Bose and the Japanese would liberate Calcutta and the Calcutta Mint may come under " Arzi Hukumat - Azad Hind " ( Provisional Government of Free India ) . On recapturing Singapore in 1945 , Mountbatten blew up ,by putting explosives , the Azad Hind War Memorial in Singapore ( like ISIS blowing up Al Nuri Mosque in Mosul ). Nehru made no attempt to rebuild Azad Hind War Memorial in Free India. Let us Rebuild now , at a suitable place, Azad Hind War Memorial . We wish Volunteers take up this Project. We will put the names of all Azad Hind Fauj soldiers. Jai Hind -------------------------------------- What an irony ? In 1979 , Mountbatten himself was blown up by explosives.
