The problem is NOT the free will given to us, people. The problem is that Allah created a human knowing that that person will go to the fire. Why would Allah create a human to fail and burn? Allah's wish is that nobody goes to the fire. Why then he creates a human to burn (when Allah knows all his destiny?). Don't mention, "He gave you the free will" because that is another topic which I agree; it does NOT justify Allah's creation of some humans to burn (predestination).

@Faisal Khan different Muslims interpret it in different ways. Some says everything is determined and some say only the final result is determined. In the end the result is same. U fail or succeed it has been determined. Some say god doesn't determine ur fate but he knows everything that will happen. The problem is in that sense fate is still determined whether he himself sets it or not.

Shahed R Islam Any analogy you give is bogus if it has anything to do with real world comparisons. You said so yourself allah is out of our time frame. So let me correct you real quick. Yes allah is testing us but it's not up to us to decide who will pass or fail. For ex: The most pious or righteous muslim may have one time accidentally spazzed out at his parents because they kept yelling and insulting him. But he swore he'd never do it again. Allah would still REALISTICALLY throw him in hell because that's not allowed. So if the man spends the rest of his life praying and stuff and STILL gets thrown into hell for that one little incident, then that means it's completely out of our hands and all depends on allah. It's not a test, we just have to wait it out and see what happens.

Also nobody can say whom Allah will "REALISTICALLY" punish. You are taking the right to say whom Allah will punish when you have no knowledge about whom Allah will punish or not. We can talk in general about kinds of people who go to hell but not in specific cases. We can tell that an evil person, who does bad things, never repents, rejects the proof Islam provides will go to hell. But you can never say that a certain person will go to hell. That right belongs to Allah only. Not you or me or anyone else.

Majed Zowk irrespective of religion one example i can think of freewill and predestination is, you go out of house, and go somehow far, there you see a brothel, and it has an alluring women making you aroused standing outside, your sight wander here and there hesitating and at far sight you see a prayer hall. [Allah's determination will be till here, showing you a prayer hall. And this can be considered as a warning.] You are aroused by this lady, is under will of God. You seeing prayer hall is warning from God. To choose to enter brothel because you are aroused, or to ignore prayer hall far away, or to enter prayer hall ignore brothel, or to ignore both and head back home, are your choices, and Allah will not influence you, but Satan can by suggestion. At the end what you choose, is still your choice. That is free will. And the whole scenario is a trial from Allah. And Allah knows best.

Majed Zowk Yes you do, because God has given humans ability to change their own destiny, at any point in life, In all your life, in the choices you make, from education to work, God doesn't influence you in choices you make, unless you yourself ask for better choice for your life from Him. He just knows everything because time is His creation. And knowledge of future is not the same as influence to make a choice.

We have the ability to choose what we do. It is impossible for Allah Ar-Razzaq not to have given us free choice because if we didn't have free choice it would contradict his very nature. If he says he gave us free choice then that is the truth. Allah Al-MU'ID couldn't lie. It's impossible. Now you might ask, "but how do we know he isn't lying"? In return I would simply ask..."why would he". If Allah Al-MU'ID wanted to be a God who tortured and messed with us for fun then why not just tell us we have no free choice right of the bat? Why tease us by saying we do. It wouldn't make sense not for us to have free choice if he said we did.

Brother it's the knowledge of Allah that he knows everything past present future but in this present time none of us know what's the future is going to be so Allah has created us in this world and hide our fate from us.. as we all have a conscious mind to think we are told to 'act' not to be worry about future.. let me explain now we have enter new class and we all know that we have to give some tests and at the end we will give boards and will enter a new class... So as a student you have two choices okay either you will study hard get good grades or just roam around and just pass and fail.. okay now in the time of board we all know that questions are tough , papers are set , dates are fixed and teachers are ready... And we ourselves know that how our exams will going to be . We know Now the one who have studied hard will make better but the one who didn't studied at all will fail or just get poor grades.. let suppose teacher knows how the students are going to make according to their performance in class and teacher also tried to guide everyone but i am the one who didn't studied at all or just studied one night before exams .. So as teachers knows who is going to get good grade and who is not does that make the teacher faulty? No not at all it's the observation, knowledge and experience of teachers to understand what the students are doing and according to it what will be their results... Before you Question I'm telling you that it's the knowledge of Allah that he knows everything but we are the one who's making actions here he knows our Nature because he is our creator. Our knowledge is limited as humans but he has knowledge of everything .. Hope you understand

Everything is pre-planned doesn't mean you don't have free choice. You are responsible for the sins you do and the good you do. But of course when you do something good, you praise Allah for giving the ability to do it, but when you do something bad, you can't blame Allah, but blame yourself. We believe in both fee will and predestination at the same time. It may seem confusing and contradictory. But such unexplainable paradoxes exist in Quantum physics as well. At the quantum level, there appears to be no causality between events, but at the macro level, causality mysteriously appears. (Causality means the reason for an event to happen, for example, for an earth quake to happen, the reasons come from movement of earth plates because of some other reasons and so forth). That is why scientists still can't explain why time moves only forwards but not backwards. Just understand that Allah is beyond our comprehension. At the same time just because you believe in Qadr doesn't mean you disbelieve in your free will. Belief in Qadr helps you in many ways. For example if some bad things happened in your life like the loss of dear ones or some dear things, you console yourself saying it was the will of Allah. Similarly if you are too much worried about your future, you say Allah will give me the best, I have to do my best. La Haula Wala Quwwatha Illa Billah. (There is no ability and no power to me except the power Allah gives me) and you will find peace and courage to move forward in life. If you understand the reason for Qadr, it will make your life a lot better.

If everything is planned then it doesn't matter if you think you have free will or not, because your god already knows what will happen before you make a decision. Salam all It’s a good video making us think about the purpose and meaning of human life. If we can make choices I believe almighty Allah swt has bestowed us with the will to choose. Qadr or predestination is a fact Muslims accept readily through the sunnah and the Quran. My own conclusion is that events have been preordained we must not be preoccupied with it as it’s done already. While as sons of Adam our Creator has bestowed upon us the choice to pray and He has recommended us to remember Him without cease. I believe the more we pray and the more we remember Him and beg Him for good things He may at His own wish even change the footprint of our destiny. Of course He knows in advance His special slaves who will qualify for this special favour. I therefore conclude that as Muslims we adhere to the teachings of the Quran and remember Him incessantly and beg Him to change our lives for the better Mohsin KL, Malaysia

In my current understanding.. al qadar are things god already decided plus.. what will happen.. all because of gods perfect knowledge in predicting the future.. god already knows our outcome.. but we have to go through life trails so we commit these things ourselves and for our hands and legs testify what things we did.. Imagine Al qadar is like 100% accurate forecasting of weather from universe start until its end.. imagine how incredible our god power to predict everything in detail. Allah more knowing..
