Great unbiased review, as always. I agree the catering was below standard with the underwhelming main course and practically non-existent dessert. But my experience with QF is that catering (esp. the presentation side of things) has been on a general downward trend these past two decades, so not a surprise here. On the plus side, an a330 up and down the east coast beats a 737 any day. The a330 doesn't service BNE, so I would totally fly down to SYD, just to catch a widebody up to CNS! Happy travels, and keep up the great work....

Yep I totally agree with you that the catering on Qantas has been declining fast. Definitely in Economy class were they pretty much just give you a snack, some biscuits or cheese and crackers. Also Business class has seen a decline in the quality, tastiness and quantity of the meal. I'd say most of this is cost cutting by the airline!

Nice trip report mate, these business class seats look very good on Qantas. Food looks quite horrible though.. Hope Australia opens up again soon for the rest of the world, it’s so isolated now..!

Yep that food was not very good. Still tasty but looked like a dogs dinner. I sure hope we open up soon but not likely. Sydney in trouble again at the moment

I agree, those business suites are one of the best available (as long as you get the true window seat). Shame that the IFE was out. I flew that route in May 2021 and it was working on my flight. Nice review, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I took another Qantas flight in May 2021 and the IFE was working then. Who knows about now while Sydney and Melbourne are in lockdown

The seats look like the one on the flight from jarkarta to Sydney in one of your previous videos. Cool And 2 questions 1 What do you use to edit your videos? 2 Do you need permission to film on flight?

yep exactly the same. Qantas use the same A330 between Sydney and Jakarta. I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my videos. No permission needed to film on flights.

qantas now uses the A330 to cairns and darwin on a more permanent basis now.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised to get this A330 from Cairns to Sydney. Much prefer this larger jet to the B737

CNS to SYD on A330 Qantas

Yes I was a bit surprised to get the A330-300 for this route. Was expecting the B737 but very happy to fly on the bigger jet

Perhaps you might write Qantas a letter of concern and ask for some mileage to be returned to your account. Mention the subpar food, no entertainment, no WiFi. Couldn’t hurt … all they may do is simply ignore your request. 🤨

I am sure a request like that would be ignored. it is hard enough to call Qantas and get to speak to someone. While disappointed with the food, it was not bad so hardly worth writing a letter of complain for!
