Poland never "conquered" Prussia or Livonia, the Duke of Prussia became a Vassal of the King of Poland-Lithuania. This is a personal obligation and NE-Prussia never became part of Poland.

To my knowledge, prussia was always under Hohenzollern rule, first as Dukes (and vassals of the King of Poland-Lithuania and shortly of the Swedish king). The independence was then granted legally and the crown was created by the Holy Roman Emperor. I'd be intrigued to hear your story.

This is something that the original deal between Albrecht and Sigismund I forbade. If the Hohenzollerns wouldn't have managed to get rid of this limitation, the ducal title would go to the Polish king if the prussian line died out. Maybe @Dehydrated Darkness was referring to that, idk

The order still exists and is alive today. People often think that the TO was just East Prussia, but that part left after converting to protestantism. The rest, as shown in the video, still exists today with around 100 Churches and Monastiers in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. There is even a protestant chapter (in the Netherlands).

@@rennor3498 They got around 3000 employees in their care homes etc. The actual number of knights/members would be VERY interesting, but as always with such organisations (it's an order under direct rule of the papacy) numbers are very hard to get by. My experience with other orders in the same business of care centers are a ratio of 1:100, so I assume 30 actual knights. But its a guess

Form 1938 till 1945 the TO was banned/persecuted in the Nazi Reich. So there can be no TO places in your map at that time. The Order only existed in Belgium and South Tyrol at that time. The Headquarters could not have been in Vienna (although I do not know where they went to, maybe Rome).

@@rennor3498 The Nazis were anticlerical. And the TO opposed the "Anschluss" of Austria (see "Dollfuß") by the Nazis. Furthermore, all "secretive" organisations (such as freemasons, jehova's witnesses etc.) were banned and persecuted. And maybe they were happy to confiscate the possessions of the Order in Austria and Czechia (the Order did not exist in German Lands since1806 outside of the Habsburg terretories due to Napoleons "secularisation").

That is correct - after the unification of the Livland Order, Samagatia was between Prussia and Latvia. They tried to close that corridor, but could not succeed in the end. Besides this, Lithuania is were the lands which are now called Belarus.

Livonian Chronical of Henry and other sources are main proofs of crimes done by Livonian and Teutonic orders to Baltic peoples, - and judicial responsibility is still in place for Teutonic order which still exists. I am sure Teutonic order would loose the case if any of Baltic states would sue existing Teutonic Order to the court. There is no time limit for that.
