Why are You showing Latvia without Latgale in 1918? Our state formed only when three lands united to form Latvia, and Latgale was one of thous three.

Latvija was founded with Latgale as a part of it, its just that the exact borders wherent defined, just like in every other direction. And when Estonians liberated Vidzemi it was part of Latvija and not Estonia. Really dissapointed in the falsehood of independance war information here.

I would like to clear some things up, specially regarding about the war of independence. When the Estonian forces came to liberate Latvia, the consultaded their own occupation on that land, it's just that Latvians were recruited to fight among Estonians for their liberation. As promised, Estonia transferred Vidzeme and northern Latvia back to the nationalist control. At any moment if the entente never intervened, then the Estonian government would've altered the northern border rightfully so by its desire.

No taxes where collected, no money was spent on any public projects, there was no civilian administration. The Estonian army operated in Latvija on its own accord yet its goal was to fight the Germans and Reds not enforce martial law upon the people who live in the lands the battles where taking place in. 75% of my ancestors are from Vidzeme, non saw any estonians in our war of independance. "it's just that Latvians were recruited to fight among Estonians for their liberation." They where being recruited by Latvijas own provisional government in the form of Latvijas northern army which at the time was officially under the command of the Estonian army general staff. The danish volunteers where also officially under the estonian general staff, yet they on their own liberated Jēkabpili at the urging of Latvijas government even tho Estonian high command had told all their forces to not go more south than Daugavu. Estonians didnt dictate stuff... it was more we are all allies with common enemies its for the benifit of us all to share a general staff for its most efficient. "As promised, Estonia transferred Vidzeme and northern Latvia back to the nationalist control." It was never really under estonian control, hard to control people you cant even talk to. Latvijas government was always the one trying to establish control and when the control was decent the Estonian government basically sayed okey we helped you get back on your own feet now go do your thing. Bough governments collaborated on controlling the land before that day. For starters Lietuva and Poland went to war over their border, and I for one would not want to see Estonia and Latvija go to war with each other. In my opinion the border was drawn most ideally as the people living there where asked what country they wanted to be in and the border was drawn so as many people as possible ended up in the country they wanted to be in.

@@baltulielkungsgunarsmiezis9714 Very true, I agree with your points and may have mistaken myself over false or wrongly written thoughts with too much extremely invalidated points such that I don't have a full clear understanding over the Estonian and Latvian situation at that time, as for the last point said, a possible brawl could've started if not for a British colonel Stephen George hadn't involved in solving the border problem. However, joint military activities in Latvian land was allowed for the Estonian forces seeking to help Latvia combat the Latvian reds, this came with a condition, that Estonia would receive land closer to the previous carved border, such as the town of Valga or Valka. The crisis over Walk was put on hold several times until nothing came out of it, and the crisis just received more tension. There was a plan proposal by Balodis, who would've seeked a possible war over Estonia for the town of Walk. Taxes and so on were not implied when the occupants under joint military occupation held Livonia, but lumber and wood was certainly collected by lumberjacks, which does imply that profit was gathered from the lands below.

They could not have held an altered Northern border for long. Lithuanians tried doing something like in Subate, and they were simply driven out by the locals.
