Assalamu alaikum. Brother Muhammad Sheikh explained in detail in his lecture, "What does the Quran say about Qisas?" and clarified and confirmed through Quranic verses that if someone is killed by mistake, Allah Almighty has commanded to pay the Qisas (blood money) and not to take the life of the killer. In contrast, the Bible has the concept of Qisas for killing animals, and for human murder, the killer is also put to death. Brother Muhammad Sheikh made this comparison in his lecture, explaining and confirming through Quranic verses. In our society and worldwide, murder and bloodshed are associated with Islam, whereas the Quran does not say anything like this. Thank you, Br Muhammad Sheikh, for your explanation. Muhammad Sheikh explained in the light of the Quran that in the Torah of the Bible, the punishment for murder is murder, while according to the Quran, the punishment for murder is retaliation, and the misconception of massacre came to Islamic society from Jewish and Christian beliefs.

The Bible provokes physical killing, but the Quran encourages living a better peaceful life.

It is mostly Torah of the Bible (first five books) that majority of people follow. It specifically orders of the killing of a person who takes life of a human-being, inflicting similar injuries to anyone who has injured another, stoning to death etc, etc, and requital/compensation is only available for killing of an animal. In Al-Kitab, Allah has completely disallowed oppressive physical killings and have further provided requital/compensation for killings of human beings for one seeking Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah.
