Why the balance of other accounts are hidden?

Hi - in transferring the beginning balance to the chart of accounts, do i need to place a (-) negative sign if its a credit ? or does QB recognized the normal balance of an account if its a credit or debit like for example.....Accounts Payable - the normal balance is credit.

How do I clean up a really messed up inventory from a previous owner

Depends on how it’s messed up. You could just do inventory adjustments to get the counts right
