What a great come back by the queen of badminton, Tai Tzu Ying, she's always a delight to watch not only because of her terrific skills and deception but her ability to stay cool under pressure and remain graceful, win or lose. In contrast, Marin shouts constantly over almost every winning shot which is totally unnecessary and really annoying, unlike Tai Tzu Ying who simply let the shuttle do the talking!

TTY brought style and personality into her games. Generous in defeats and grcious in winning. She's humble and rarely offends her opponents. Just look at the way she shakes the hands of her opponents, always bowing and shows respect. She has been the 'Madonna' of the game so far, making women badminton a game to watch with her simple and practical outfits but entertaining play. Her performance when she's at her best is always almost reaching a spiritual level; cool, confident and spontaneous. Of all the women shuttlers I have watched over the years only Susi Susanti and Le Ning have come close to her persona. TTY is about flair, skill, brain and agility. To add to her beautiful game she brought humility, grace and friendship with her, thus adding beauty and joy into her game. She's been what Bruce Lee said, "play the game seriously in earnest, and honesty and oeave the result to heaven". She's been badminton's athelete of all time so far. Entertaining and inspirational to watch. She's really a phenomenon in modern badminton.

I find her multiple screaming when in close proximity to her opponent disrespectful. She comes across as highly strung , arrogant, conceited and entitled, frequently making the server wait for her when the receiver should be the one waiting to be served. The umpire had to constantly usher her to the court for taking her time. Still, if you like her screaming, try living next door to her on her wedding night, maybe she wants to win too.

@@cayotelives Tai obviously has been world No. 1 for two years running for a reason. The closest player to her talent-wise is probably Ratchanok, but RI doesn't have the same mental toughness or consistency. That all said, Tai's resume is far from complete. She needs to win at least one big title to go down as one of the all-time greats of the sport. As a big fan of hers, I hope she's ambitious enough to want to dominate the sport for several years to come, including winning multiple WCs and an Olympic gold. She's certainly capable of doing that, but I'm not sure she's as hell-bent on winning these big titles as Marin is.

both are good players. just i think Tai has better control and change pace quite often that got Marin stranded. but for someone like Marin who comes from a country where badminton is like almost unheard of to stand tall in the badminton world is a huge achievement. She is like Li Na of China in the tennis world. and thanks to her i believe more European will get to know the sport and perhaps get involved in it and it will be much more exciting game than it already is.

@N D i think you forgot about the topic. lin dan was surely the best even if we don't count his major titles. both lin dan and lcw were at their best rivalry. i never get jealous if my favourite players dont get any of those. what i said that, the "skillful & better player" is not counted ONLY with their major titles. how can i say Sindhu is the best at 2019 where she won gold BWC but hardly manage to go through QF every single tournament in the same year. i dont mention she's bad, but to recall she is the best at the time is also a no. So there's barely no point to say that who is the best based on their achievements at big events. but if i am asked, who has more complete titles, marin/tty/sindhu? abs marin &sindhu. who's more skillful? abs tty. even commentators agree bout that, when she retired someday she will be remembered as a skillful player despite of her achievements. you can downgrade players cause they dont get any medals in big events, but you cant deny they are skillful enough i forgot that i will not reply to this but i typed so long 😂 so sorry. Amazing to watch Tai Tzu Ying neutralizing Marin's speed and power game. It became both a thinking and physical game. She has been consistently display her poor ethics on courts. There are tons of anti Marin fans because of this obvious reason. I don't see any other players getting this hate treatment from fans.
