Appreciate the replies. Because there's no way to know where a commenter lives, unless they indicate such, it's sometimes difficult to know if they are sincere or joking. Having said that, it would have been great to see Fry as a patient on "House". Too bad the scheduling never worked out.

Linda Hart. If they had both been in House it would have not worked. Since A bit of Fry Laurie, Blackadder and Jeeves and Wooster, their paths have diverged to the point of embarrassment. I agree it's hard to really know who is posting, but you were a giveaway, it's all in the syntax.

Unfortunately he was the weakest panel member on this episode. This was probably his best bit, and it centers around others interrupting him. It was the first episode to be fair but he seems just a little to quiet to thrive on QI

Kiwifruit aren't shipped by air. They are picked in winter and naturally slowly ripen after harvest. This makes it possible to store then under refrigeration for months and ship them thousands of miles. As a fruit grown in the open air , they do not have a big carbon impact compared to much locally grown produce from heated glasshouses.

I was looking for this comment (not shipped by air freight) or otherwise I would have said it. Some other fruit will also ripen off the tree, for example avocado and cherimoya will only begin to ripen after you pick it. For these fruit its very natural (its the only way)to ripen off the tree. Some fruit like grapes will not increase in sugar after picking but may dehydrate to a raisin increasing in its sugar to weight ratio.

Sessions insists on knowing the questions that will be asked before the day of filming so he can appear smarter and funnier. He has a precise story about every subject. Fry addressed it once but without saying his actual name and said he wasn’t a fan of it at all. It takes all the fun out of the program.

As UndergroundResidu points out, the ron-rhotic 'r' in RP renders the vowels in 'wood' and 'ward' completely phonetically indistinguishable in its conjoined form, so if he wanted to be consistent and retain the abstracted contextual phonetics, it would be eh-woo woo-woo, but yes, by themselves they should sound more like that (or more correctly e-wah woo-wah).

Except kiwifruit would rarely be flown. They are primarily sent by ship the same as most other produce, which is vastly more fuel efficient.
