I think Sandi must be the most well received replacement for any host I've seen, everyone seems to agree she's perfect for the part!

Right out of the gate, it's quite fantastic but maybe it helps that she was already such a well received guest and perhaps the only one that could keep the others in line 😂

I've often thought about this, And for the life of me I cannot come up with another tv personality that could successfully fulfil that role. And it was a very demanding role too, intellectually speaking. They made the right choice and it really added a new lease of life to the show.

Stephen is like the grandfather you will always believe knows damn well everything, but Sandi’s the worldly aunt your parents wouldn’t let you talk to alone, in case you get corrupted. Needless to say we’re all quite happy to be corrupted at this point.

Better than that, they should have a Stephen question in each episode, where they send a film crew to wherever he is, and he would say "Why hello there, little elves..." the location and occupation becoming increasingly stranger.

The scene at 1:02 is from the first episode of the N series and it was the moment I knew I liked Sandi as host, and it was such a cool moment because right then Alan acknowledged it and summed it up perfectly: "You've got it, you're in the right chair." 🙂

Finally caught up on all things QI and I can safely say there was no one better to step into Professor Fry’s place than Professor Toksvig. @azzyclark38607 жыл бұрын
The last series of QI with Stephen was series 'M'. Throughout the series, Stephen was learning about magic. Magic begins with 'M'. In the last episode of series 'M', Stephen was presented with membership to the magic circle. Instead of this, Stephen surely should have done one last magic trick. Stephen should have made himself disappear. I feel that this was the biggest missed opportunity ever.
@WDStevens7 жыл бұрын
Oh, that would have been nice. Or they could have had him regenerate into Sandi like in Doctor Who. On a serious note, however, I don't know whether they even knew Stephen was leaving when taping the M series. Sandi definitely hadn't been cast (if that's the right word) as she'd booked in a professional engagement for March and had to pull out when asked to take over so I imagine it all happened a lot later than we think.
