But it has worked in sport fighting already. And since I practice both styles, I can say the Mantis is especially good for real self defense. MMA is sport, kickboxing and grappling. Mantis also has kickboxing and stand up grappling. The ground should be avoided in a real fight. And I am saying that as someone who has practiced American wrestling since childhood, and MMA as a teen in the late 90's till now. Of course, I'm happy to be prepared for ground grappling too, in case I ever need it. It's a good skill to have. MMA also does not deal with weapons, Mantis does.
