0:46 - Seems a bit of a stretch. The "colony" didn't govern anything, the queen did. And she was queen regardless of where she was at. I guess it was unusual (for the time) that she moved her court to a different part of the empire, but itinerant courts had been pretty common in Western Europe during medieval times.

Well, "conquering" is a bit of a stretch as well. The French basically marched in unchallenged and nobody paid much attention to them until they started seizing assets and killing random people, upon which the locals got pissed and defeated them in about 6 months (which was probably made easier by the fact that they were completely cut off from France at that point). Anyway, my point was that the ruler was (and continued to be) the queen, not the _territory_ where she happened to be.

@@JasperJanssen That was my thinking too. In the 70s there were a lot of comedians who "dressed in drag" as was the phrase of the time, but that does not make them a Drag Queen. It was just a comedic device, not an identity or fully developed character presentation.
