Qidi X max 3 after 3 months and more frustration / poloroid camcorder (sorry about the audio)

So, after 3 months this Qidi X Max 3 has driven me insane!!! I have had so much downtime, and repairs it's truly ridiculous! Beware! Their support has remained better, they are sending new parts, and considered taking it back even though it's been so long, but I would have to pay to ship it to China, (ridiculous) so I think even though rated for 350 C it can't actually function above 300 C, so for the high temp materials I wound up ordering an Intamsys Funmat HT. Review to follow. Also, sorry about the audio. Obviously, the Poloroid camcorder is out of commission after 1 video! Sony is up and running!

These videos are necessary because I was about to order Qidi x max 3 for my university on personal responsibility. But I will just go with the x1 carbon now. Even though it’s a lot more expensive.

Did you see my updated videos, they really turned it around with me. They have actually thoroughly impressed me. QIDI technical support/after Sales service I couldn’t get a hold of that first time, then I had another problem later on, and they ended up helping me tremendously. Sent me a ton of parts walked me through how to fix everything, and I got the printer working actually really well. Honestly, the bamboo does work better out of the box because there’s not a lot of issues with it but I think now they are making all those new parts that they sent me standard, the hot end has much more ventilation and three fans plus the turbo fan in the front where there was only one before, they sent me all that stuff, but it’s all standard on the new models. I would reconsider before making it decision, I made sure to make new videos of the after sale support really standing up and backing up the product afterwards, honestly, bamboo support was just as hard to get a hold of. I did mention that in the video, but I didn’t have many problems with it so it wasn’t a big deal. But had I had any problems I don’t know when I would have gotten a hold of them, Q has been responding within hours, literally from China, even during the day, which is middle of the night over there, they have really been on top of it. I have a string of 100 emails they helped me with every single problem. This was the truth at the time, but since then they have really stood up to the plate.

Hey man, that's awesome! I'm happy to hear you didn't have to go through this as well, I have a bunch more stuff coming from them today or tomorrow, so I'm hoping for the best, but I ended up ordering an intamsys funmat ht because I need something reliable at a high temp. Hopefully, the emmc, and I did get their new probe, but it trashed my bed, I kept the bl touch, and they sent me a new one, The support has been sooooo much better lately.

I am printing large industrial Nylon gears. Would you reccomend the F430 or the Qidi Xmax3 will do the job. I want reliability and support from the manufacturer. The diference in price is big but for a most reliable machine it is worth it in my opinion.

Hey man, good morning, so that’s a loaded question for sure. With QIDIU will definitely get support in the form of you doing the work and they send you the parts and give you information on how to do it. CreatBot’s support I’m unsure of, they were working with me, but the truth is I was going so far on that printer, there was nothing left of theirs that they could help me with so I don’t know how far they would have gone, but it seemed like they were willing to work with me even when doing modifications, but the reason I did so much to that printer is because the F430 is worth doing it to. It needs updated electronics. It’s a 10-year-old printer, but the fact is it’s industrial built. That’s the reason for the cost increase, it’s a truly industrial 3-D printer. It’s all steel construction, large, linear, rails, large linear, rods, and lead screws, it’s built to be an industrial machine printing all the time. So hopefully that information is helpful, now that I’ve done everything I’ve done to it. I can print with it in very high temperature material, I’ve been successful with PPS, which is a high temperature. Very temperamental nylon, I’m going to do Peek and pekk next. And I don’t anticipate any issues after seeing do this. If you have a more specific question, I can answer it for you to the best of my ability, but the decision is not an easy one. It’s a very different printer, it seems like for your purpose and 1 of reliability, the CreatBot is probably going to be your best. Bet if you can afford it, but the QIDI will definitely have the support, but the problem is you’ll need the support. That was the problem for me, they were there, and they were helpful, and they sent the parts I needed, but I didn’t want to need that many parts that fast that often. The industrial printers are going to need maintenance because their printing at extremely high temperatures, you can’t find a printer you can do that without having any maintenance, but at the same time it’s very easily maintainable. Everything is industrial. So it’s all serviceable. That would be my choice for your application, but you have to make your own decision. Obviously, I’m happy to help educate you as much as I can on the machines, but ultimately it’s your decision. I hope this is helpful.

It’s a new camera, I have to adjust the audio settings. It’s an $800 Sennheiser microphone and a $1200 Sony camcorder with a Zeiss lens, just needs to be tweaked. Why is your nickname so bad?
