Douglas Phillips well it’s still hilarious to me but the accent isn’t out of place at all for me because I have that accent. To me, it has a similar meter to a line of a song in Gershwin's "Of Thee I Sing". Wiki: 'The musical lampoons American politics; the story concerns John P. Wintergreen, who runs for President of the United States on the "love" platform. When he falls in love with the sensible Mary Turner instead of Diana Devereaux, the beautiful pageant winner selected for him, he gets into political hot water." The French ambassador unexpectedly arrives and says jilting Diana is a great offense to France because she's a distant relative of Napoleon! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYq3opJmrLmrqc0 She's the illegitimate daughter (They say of the Acropolis) Of an illegitimate son (Where the Parthenon is) Of an illegitimate nephew (Tha-at there are no) Of Napoleon.
