Is this the current driving test in qld and has it changed? Also how many hours do you recommend for mature driver before taking the test??
@drivingtestaustralia Жыл бұрын
@@Sherlock245 This is current and up-to-date. It is difficult to comment on how many hours are needed before the test, as everyone is different. Typically, after taking at least one or two hour-long lessons with an instructor, they will be able to let you know how many more hours you need before your test.

My brother is doing the test next week. This was helpful for him. I wish it was like the 70s when the cops could just give you a licence. These test are just for city people
@bencodykirk6 ай бұрын
Yeah, and we also didn't wear seatbelts in the 70s. Didn't end well for a lot of people.
@DatsunBloke73576 ай бұрын
@bencodykirk It should be optional to wear seatbelts. Personally, I would always wear a seatbelt, but it should be up to the individual rather than the government. Although those laws only exist for revenue raising.
@bencodykirk6 ай бұрын
@@DatsunBloke7357 I'm glad to hear you wear a seatbelt, but the laws are not "revenue raising". They are to stop people dying. Some things should NOT be left up to the individual because people are too stupid on the whole.
@DatsunBloke73576 ай бұрын
@bencodykirk Sometimes, I wonder if there is too much safety stuff everywhere. I believe if someone wants to do something stupid and it will only affect them, then they should be allowed to do it. That's why I believe their should be a punishment for drink driving as that can hurt other people as you are more likely to crash into someone, which puts other road users at risk. But not wearing a seatbelt and crashing and being flung out your window is your own fault and only will affect you.

With the test report sheet, I've got an idea on how it can be improved. Here's my idea: There is a box that asks if the student in the driving test has any condition that may affect their driving. The label will say "Conditions that may affect the student's driving" However, this box is only filled if the student has a condition that affects their driving. How it will work: The examiner will ask the student if they have a condition that may affect their performance in the driving test. If the student has a condition, the examiner will write down the type of condition that the student have. Examples: 1: The student will tell the examiner that they have autism or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The examiner will write down the word "Autism" or "Autism Spectrum Disorder". 2: The student tells the examiner that they have poor visibility where they need something to wear glasses to improve observation. The examiner will write down the word "Poor visibility". Reasons on why this should be added: 1: The examiner will be aware of the student's behaviour including their feelings and attitude during the test. They may try and help keep the student as calm as possible. 2: If the student passes the test, their condition will be converted to the label "Conditions" in their driver licence card including their licence receipt too. 3: May prevent people from failing to notify TMR their condition to risk themselves from getting a huge fine.
@drivingtestaustralia9 ай бұрын
This is a great point. They actually ask this question from all the driving test applicants when they fill out a form before they take their test. To make sure that this has been answered correctly, even the TMR agents who do the driving test registrations, ask about that again, and write down any specific conditions that the applicants may have. So this has been taken into consideration already, just not included in the test report sheet. 🙂

Thanks for the videos! I've been googling and can't find an official answer to this question. For my practical test do I need to turn of all of my car's driving-assistance features like automatic speed warning and lane assist? I know reversing cameras are ok but I can't find info on other safety features. Cheers!
@drivingtestaustralia2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. That's what they tell you when you go for the driving test: "If the vehicles is fitted with driver assist devices (for example GPS, speed alarms, park assist or easy start) please turn these devices off for the duration of the test, where possible or requested.". SO they ask you to turn these off, WHERE POSSIBLE OR REQUESTED. They prefer you to turn these off if possible. This is a part of the message the driving examiners ask you to read before you start the test. You can watch this video for the full message: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goSweWpvi6tshJY

What Qld legislation requires dashcams to be disabled during driving tests? Just had a teen failed for doing 45 in a school zone after being told by the assessor to speed up because the limit was 60 & he was doing 40, so a record of any misconduct would be nice to have when submitting a misconduct complaint. I've hunted everywhere, but can't find any legal requirement to disable them
@drivingtestaustralia Жыл бұрын
There are no requirements for the dashcams to be disabled. Dashcams can be installed and used to record. However, they must not record the cabin, and voice recording must be disabled for privacy reasons. Examiners do not ask driving test applicants to do anything illegal, nor do they trick them.

Hello, is failing to check blind spot whilst doing a hill start a critical error?
@drivingtestaustralia Жыл бұрын
It depends on the situation. If another vehicle happens to be in your blindspot at the moment you start driving, that's critical. But if there is no one there, it's a non-critical driving error.

Speeding is illegal and is an instant fail, but for example you are going gown a hill on a 60 road. the speed increases because of the hill and you are breaking but it goes to 61km but you instantly change it and start breaking faster. Is that still a fail because of the instant reaction?

Yes it is. Even 1 k over the speed limit is an instant fail. In a test situation, speed control an ability that examiners check to see if driver licence applicants possess

Hi Aoi. Roundabouts don't have any specific speed limit. The roads do. If there is a roundabout in a road with the speed limit of 30kmph, you need to make sure you don't drive over 30 even in that roundabout. Driving over the speed limit is an instant fail :)

It's to test the basic skills and you are capable. Everyone has the freedom to do anything after this, just like you typing that comment. So in your words you just think everyone should have a licence with no test? Then they will still do the wrong thing? Probably the strangest outlook on test ever. Why test is school anyone can just get a job anyway. Why test to be a doctor they will fail anyway.
