This was the best game of the '80's State of Origin games. The sydney games were never sellouts until 1985, this contest was the first real S.O.O game in my opinion. Brett Kenny was phenomenal.

I don't remember watching this game, but I know I did. It was a family thing. When I hear "Qld is the under dog" I can't help but laugh, Qld is the benchmark, Qld is, and will always be the Team to Beat. State Of Origin is, and always has been, can NSW beat Qld... Because they shouldn't... That's how it started, that's how it is today... State of Origin started Because Qld believed they were superior...And they were in the early games, and on average so far... But there's not much in it...

Someone tell me why the accountants were allowed to change the rules? More offloads, more tackles, more action, more skill than the boring crap played today. 5m offside line, tacklers can rip the ball, markers can play at the ball. Bloody money men ruined the greatest game ever played. I can't even watch the games these days. The play the ball is so slow, i can go and make a cuppa between tackles
