Wile I would not mind too much if the 'upgrade fairy' promoted us to a PG or QG suite - I think so far for six crossings we have spent less than a single QG crossing, so we will be sticking with a sheltered balcony

I shudder to think of the cost of 7 nights in that Suite.. it seems to be one of those “if you have to ask the price, then you can’t afford it”, scenarios.. 😂😮😢

It's probably about the same price as chartering a private jet from NY or anywhere else in the USA to London. Crossings on QM2 in lower classes of rooms, especially inside cabins, are a much better value. Consider what the cost would be for a 4 star hotel in London or NYC for 7 nights then factor in all the food and other included entertainment and there's no other place you can get so much for the price.

They’re like 3-4 grand. Duplex suites are like 11K.

We were just on QM2 in a Q5 Queens Grill suite last month! You captured the Balmoral suite very well. Our favorite, part of the trip was, hands-down, the caliber of food and service in the Queen's grill restaurant! Ordering à la carte off menu was always accommodated with the table sideshow from the maître d' and waiters. Truly unforgettable! We have a future voyage booked in a Q5 on Queen Elizabeth, Alaskan itinerary next year.

Hi! We are looking to book a Q5 suite for a crossing. Our first time onboard. I'm concerned that on the 9th deck, we will be staring at the lifeboats. Did you have any issues with obstructed view at all?

LOL I use QM 2 for transportation not for pleasure and I go sterage class (interior room no windows no balcony). I made friends who traveled Grill class and said they would meet me at the G32. They stood me up and as I walked outside on deck 7 I saw them in the private grills lounge as I looked it having a good old time. I felt like Jack on Titanic.

Thanks for sharing this as travelling in Queens Grill is on my bucket list 😀. A little disappointing about the lack of welcome and in my humble opinion, those rails could do with a bit of varnish 😬😬. Mrs B and I look forward to future presentations ❤

Thanks. Putting the lack of welcome to one side, it was still a great experience. Unlike a flight, where a lack of greeting from the FSM probably demonstrates a lack of leadership and a crew who are not 'on point', the lack of welcome here did not detract from otherwise very good service.

Nice review! I am boarding QM2 on the 4th September for the back to back crossing from Southampton. Sadly, not in Grills, just Britannia. But, having been onboard QM2 multiple times I am happy with where I am. Look forward to having the time to watch the rest of the series.

It's a great ride I've done it several times ,the ocean liner is second to none .I can afford kings grill but prefer a standard balcony mid ship.the Atlantic has a mind of its own it can get very rough out there no matter how much space you have in your suite or caban the intire ship is the experience. gentleman's details of how things operate for grills passengers is confirmation your only there for 7 days once the know you they don't forget you .your just another king and queen boarding like the millions before you.

Just wondering. Why do they need two signs, one above the other, telling you that this is the Concierge Lounge? Is the lower sign for vertically-challenged people?

My guess would be that the top sign is the original, and then the lower sign has been added when they’ve put braille signage around the ship.

That is a total disgrace that they did not escort you from check in to the suite, they do it on Celebrity for the Penthouse and are looking out for the passengers at check in, if this is what you get when booking this suite with Cunard, I think I would forget it, unbelievable, I wonder has anyone from Cunard seen this as I think they would be appalled.

Imo the Britannia Restaurant looks 10x better than the QG one

Being a lot smaller the QG is quieter and more intimate.

I've never understood why they keep that ridiculous stationary bicycle at the top of the stairs. Talk about a missed opportunity for either an oversized plush chair for one or a built in banquet bench type seating arrangement. That has to be on of the most spectacular vantage points on the entire liner and in the 20 years she's been at sea I bet we could count on one hand the number of guests who actually used that bike for more than somewhere to hang their jacket.

Queens Grill simply looks dreadful--I hate to think what you paid for that! Window seat in the Grills restaurant next to the running track with everybody peering in and that awful colour scheme, Grills lounges look like a cross channel ferry bar and the grills sundeck looks pathetic. In fairness the Duplex looked very nice with the exception of the 70s looking furniture. Have sailed on her twice including her inaugural but never again. Get far more bang for your buck in the Retreat on Edge Class ships.
