See Chapter 3 of FAA-H-8083-1 for how an aircraft is weighed and empty weight %MAC is calculated. This is the slider on top right side in mfs. It is basically set once and calced when aircraft weighed and delivered from manufacture. The TCDS from FAA has ref datum loc and Lemac and MAC. Below this is loaded %mac which is used for trim settings. For example in Longitude. The Cessna 172sp POH has good example in Weight balance chapter 6 or 7. EWCG etc. %MAC is 24 for cessna 172sp, aprox. XP has Center of Gravity slider as well. Pretty sure this is meant to represent EWCG.

Sorry about long-winded comments. Not directed at you, but perhaps other viewers. I see so many simmers, and unfortunately yt influencers using the MFS EW %MAC slider incorrectly. They load the plane then come over and center the EW%MAC slider which is wrong. Thanks for the well done videos.

No worries! I enjoyed reading the comment and I appreciate your compliment. There is a lot that goes into the sims to make them realistic, but it is nice to see another person that enjoys the realistic side of simming!

Update I'd this were getting for xp12 a physical simulated w/b per weight of pax or cargo and each section/ station ,I don't know if that be represented visually with actually cargo etc but with along massively improved inertia so that will have an even greater effect on flight performance and cfg , this on its own a big deal

Having actual CG and response, is great! It is welcome especially when teaching a student how it affects flight characteristics.
