I wanted to say this, there's something that popped into my head about Gates saying "I don't know too many men that would stay for that length or during that danger," something made think of another angle to this. Think of the past relationships she's had with other men. They would stay with her until she would say go on and live your life. With Castle, he does what she says against the grain, meaning he would die giving the circumstance. But to my point on this phrase and throughout this episode gives you what Castle is willing to do that her past ex's would do but not to an extended point. Meaning they would just follow her lead, when Castle goes his own lead, he promised to leave but not to come back. That's what makes him different from her ex-boyfriends.

The bomb episode was "Still" from this season, which is 5x21 but aired out of order as 5x22 this season. The other I'm not sure of. I don't recall Espo ever being hanged. He was close to being drowned in "Knockdown" in season three... episode 3x13, which is when Castle and Beckett share their first kiss while going "undercover" to save Espo and Ryan.
