Well said. I’m 23 so I’m always going backward in time to fine rock bands. Grew up hearing classic rock and I really gravitated to grunge. And then I stumbled upon QOTSA one day and it really felt like something that was made for me that I could call my music. Queens occupies a space in rock that not many others can (Kyuss is a part of that obviously). Heavy, eerie, psychedelic but tight. And a perfect balance of artsy but not too up their own ass to let loose. Really hoping for another album soon. I’ve only known about them since about 2013 so I go through entire phases of my life before they put out new projects lol.
@CCDaDon152 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: qotsa has a direct tie to grunge. Qotsa was born after the Screaming Trees broke up and Josh started working with a bunch of people from that scene. In that time he collaborated with Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden on Desert Sessions and wellwater conspiracy, which is a band with Matt Cameron. Matt also plays drums on their original demos and played drums for the first qotsa live set.

Guess you never saw Rush lol. These guys are huge rush fans. They learned from the masters. But no one is tighter than rush was.

I remember some festival gig, seen it on yt, Josh was already pretty wasted, made his drunk speech and they just like that performed Go With The Flow tight as ever. Dude is fucking great. Pozdro666

One thing about QOTSA is they do not fuck around when it comes to drummers. The band and Josh are pure genius.

Seen them twice on the Like Clockwork tour. They are fucking good live. Real tight. Another great live band is Baroness.

I caught their album release show for Like Clockwork at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. One of the best concerts I have ever seen in my life and I have been to a LOT -- they played nearly the entirety of the album and then did a whole other set of material afterwards, and they were on fire that night. Gonna have to try and look up to see if there's any quality recordings of the show here on KZbin. It was a relatively small venue for a band like QOTSA especially in a city as big as LA so hopefully even if they're fan shot they'll be okay. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKqYkK2ElMqlsNk - this is actually the show, the night I went to was 5/24 -- I still have the merch I bought there, though this girl I met on tinder jacked my sick "like clockwork" hoodie and I never got it back I still have the other stuff haha

If all the members of Cream had a fever dream about some weird band called QOTSA and then showed up for rehearsal the next day it would sound like this or vis a vis.
