Nice review, couple of questions. How’s the flex of the joycons? A common problem with 3rd party joycons is that they don’t quite fit the rails of the switch properly and they sort of wobble or flex in the housing. Do these fit good? Can the left macro button be programmed to buttons on the right joycon and visa versa? Some other controllers only allow the left macro button to work with left side buttons.

Good questions. So far with my experience, these slide on the the rails with no issues. The release mechanism isn't as polished as the official JC, but saying that, the T5's release is perfectly useable with no issues. I've not experienced much in the way of flex - if anything, the original JC show more signs of flex than the T5 does. I did try the macro programming like you suggested but sadly they seem limited to their own units rather than cross-JC programming... It's possible I'm doing something wrong, but form my testing, programming seems limited to individual JC.

@@RetroCrisis good to know. That macro programming seems to be standard across the board, sadly. It’s the one benefit that something like the retro flag style case has over JC replacements

how do I connect the left controller to play handheld mode it’s just in table top? When I connect it to the switch it doesn’t do the visual thing and doesn’t turn on I have to hold the pair button

How is the accuracy of the dpad in stuff like Tetris and Contra?

I don't own Tetris or Contra for Switch. But it worked fine with the games I tested it on. No issues experienced (so far)

@@RetroCrisis ah ok, because those are the most popular games where a lot of 8Bitdo controllers and even Nintendo's own Pro Controller mess up, by getting accidental diagonal input when pressing a cardinal direction. I'm always on the lookout for controllers with this issue so I can steer clear. If these come to Amazon I'll give them a try, since I can return them if they have the issue.

So according to their websites, the QRD is £47.69 - but could be less with the discount code in the description. Whereas official joy con from the Nintendo store appear to be £69.99

​@@RetroCrisis Thanks that's great so you re basically getting a superior product For a lower price, Nintendo does like to overcharge for its accessories And also hates 2 Reduce the price of its first Party games even when they've been out for years 😂😂😂 I may have to pick up One of these at some point
