Helpful tip! I’m a BRP tech at our local dealership, if you put it in park, you can rotate the secondary that little bit without the risk of gouging the ramp on the helix. Awesome video! Young tech here, just ordered a QSC primary for my 18 850!

SSSoooo.. 2 months after I installed the QSC primary. I came into a few bucks and decided to get the STM secondary. (its on its way) I've researched plenty, and the two are a match made in heaven. STM has the spec. for the QSC and sets up what I need for the secondary. I ordered the STM from the same place as I got the QSC. MUD DIGGERS MOTOR SPORTS. They in turned contacted STM to make sure all the spec.s were correct. Great customer service from those guys at MDM, I'll make an install video when I get it. When you get your the primary installed, all I can say is "HOLD ON"!!!!! Your face will hurt from smiling. "Ride Hard and Be Safe" MN Bill

@@minnesotaxmr oh yeah I've noticed a big difference just with the primary. Feels like a new bike, smoother and more responsive at the throttle

@@minnesotaxmr i also just orderedthe qsc primary for my 850xmr. So im interested in why you feel the need to also go with the secondary?...

@@xmonster741 Actually, you probably don't. I just read a lot about the secondaries that a lot of guys are running on the 1000's and I thought I give it a shot on my little 850. Mud Diggers motor Sports set me up really nice. I got a 40 degree helix with a engine brake. I can run 30-32 MPH in low. (trails and dodging trees) But I can also run in High without tearing up my belt. I love the set up. I haven't got to a top speed yet. Very smooth throttle on and off, and I can do what the 1000's I ride with and some times more. In low, OMG, HANG ON. You'll see, the the QSC is a big step over stock and the Dalton. The QSC and the STM seen to be THEE combo. I would agree. BUT, the primary up grade will make you very happy. "Ride hard and be Safe" MN Bill

My revX from QSC sounds horrible just like this one in your video but in most videos i dont hear it at all. do you have any input on that horrid clunking at idle.

When I first started my ride, I was surprised at the sound. (more like clicking). I found the 3 screws that hold the cutch arms seemed to have a little play in them. They had lock nuts with lock tight and they were tight. I thought I'd installed a thin washer under the nut to see if that would help. It did. The screws have just a small amount of play, (which you want) and the clicking noise went away. I'm NOT suggesting that's what you should do. The new QSC is different now than what I installed. I would suggest that you should talk to Adam at QSC with any issues you might have. I am a mechanic by trade and have been for about 45 years now, so I am confident with the minor fix I did. I do check the screws for security when I clean my clutch. QSC makes an incredible clutch and I endorse their product 100%, (I ride with others guys that have it too). The power gains are great. And by the way, the videos that I watched before I bought mine, Do have a bit of clicking too. Thanks for the ? "Ride Hard and Be Safe" MN Bill

Not supposed to re use the bolt after it’s been torqued
@minnesotaxmr
@minnesotaxmr 3 жыл бұрын
Right! On the secondary. The primary, at 75ft lbs. you're not stretching the bolt. That's pretty much a standard torque for the bolt size. Now, if you have had issues with that bolt breaking after a retorque, I'm all ears.

I'm doing a Dalton primary on my 19 xmr 850 outlander. Along with fuel tuenr and Yoshi exhaust. How big of a difference did the clutch make?
@minnesotaxmr

I had the dalton kit too. The QSC upgrade was huge, then the STM secondary was holy sh*t. A lot quicker throttle response and smooth engine brake. I ride in the woods allot. I saw allot of guys doing the Dalton then the CVtech and then the QVC. I was sorry I did the Dalton to begin with. Mud Digger Motor Sports set me up nicely with both. They figured out what set up I needed from how I ride , my weight , tire size, after market mods. etc. And then figured out what type of Helix to get on the STM secondary. (40 degree with engine brake) In the past I did my tree dodging in low but now I can stay in high and not tear up my belt. In 4 low the mud holes seem ez. Thanks for the ? Torque Specs???
@minnesotaxmr
@minnesotaxmr 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you're asking. The secondary was torqued according to Can Am Maintenance manual specs. If I recall, it's 20flbs. and then 180 degree turn. The QSC was 75flbs. That is what QSC called for. I hope that's what you're asking. "Ride Hard and Be Safe" MN Bill
