2nd the video of there's more information. It seems to easy to be real where you just put buro on your QRZ page and everybody knows what to do. Most of my QSL is done on eqsl and qrz. But I got a few cards from Japan and that was nice to see. I might even put them on the wall someday.

I am a member of ARRL and have never used the bureau. I always send direct and include a SASE locally and green stamps for foreign. My replies this way are about 99%. I never know whether the country I send to will allow people to exchange the money, but I suppose they collect a few dollars til they would bother going to the bank. It costs a little more to do it this way, but I get the cards back when I include the SASE . I think the few that do not reply probably do not have cards. I also usually check qrz to see if they will QSL direct and some say they won’t. I have not figured out what I want to do for eQSL.

Michael -- Enjoy all your videos even though I have been a ham for over 60 years! One comment on the bureau -- some of the bureaus will allow you to sent Paypal dollars to them to cover the cost of stamps and envelopes. I know the six-land bureau does that. Also, the volunteers sort the cards by call, not by state. Best 73's de WD6FIE

I never bothered setting up with the bureau since I use eqsl qrz and lotw but summer of 2020 i got an email from illinois dx in naperville saying i had a stack sitting there and if i wanted them to send some money mail or paypal so that same week i paypal'd 15 bucks to them and replied to the email saying I had done so and thanked them for contacting me as I had no idea I had cards sitting there. After a month or 2 I emailed again since I hadn't recieved anything yet. Every couple months I would inquire via email and after 6 months or so I gave up and so far have not received anything. My emails were always replied to within a day or so by either k9je or k9eu but of course I didn't want to push since it is a volunteer service and corona 19 was in full force. Anyway bad experience for me but I wouldn't discourage People from using the service my situation is probably just a fluke.

I used the bureau extensively in the 1990s, when I was KB4OER and before the internet was a thing. The bureau is pretty much dying out now, as nobody wants to wait a year or more to receive their cards. LOTW is the way to go these days, IMO. I realize DXpeditions cost $$, so I don't mind sending a few bucks via OQRS/ClubLog for a rare DXCC entity. I still keep a few envelopes on file at my incoming bureau, just in case. 73 de WB4DW
