I’m glad the second video showed his offloads! That’s what he’s best known for. He’s one of the greatest athletes ever for sure, he would excel in almost any sport. He also played Sevens for NZ, but got injured so he didn’t make the Olympics.
@QSNgg5 ай бұрын
Yeah he looked like such a well rounded and tough athlete. I loved his offloads! SBW is incredible!

17:00 That's not just interacting with a fan. That is Sonny Bill giving that random fan the medal he had just been awarded for winning the World Cup.
@QSNgg5 ай бұрын
Thanks for giving me context on what happened there Rit! I appreciate you! It's cool that he did that and shows how great of a guy SBW is. Super cool
@lewistumelty5 ай бұрын
I watched the first half and thought 'these guys are not doing SBW justice here'. Then the 2nd video showed what hes really about - the best offloader in the game. Theres no team in the world that can defend against someone who can break the gain line every time, take 2 or 3 defenders out of the game and make impossible offloads to support runners. Best ive ever seen at doing it. Also a lot of his tries were walk ins but its understated how difficult it is to run those lines and take the ball flat at pace! Wish he was Welsh!!
@QSNgg5 ай бұрын
You said it perfectly Lewis! I really loved seeing his offloads! I'm going to be sure to check out more of his highlights just to see the magic he created on the field.

Sonny Bill was experiencing a fantastic phase in All Blacks rugby, amidst great centers like Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, and Richard Kahui. Although he often started from the bench, whenever given the chance, he delivered his best, as evident in his performance today. His act of generosity, giving away his World Cup gold medal to a kid who ran onto the field, speaks volumes about his character. You can witness this heartwarming moment in the video's final part. Perhaps you can react to his video on that.

The last clip at the end was after the final of the 2015 World Cup. The boy ran onto the field to hug Sonny Bill and was removed by the stewards. Sonny Bill after receiving his gold medal found the boy in the crowd and gave him his medal.

SquidgeRugby's video on the world cup final just got re-uploaded. He makes the most in-depth analysis videos on KZbin and I'd really recommend you check it out. It's 45 minutes and Squidge can be a bit hard to understand if you aren't too familiar with his accent, but the video has some great strategic and tactical insights that I think you will appreciate and it also gives you an insight into the captain Siya Kolisi in a way that a highlights video never would.

SBW was one of the best centers of his time, very good defensively, had an excellent and devastating off-load and he also had a good eye for a gap. His big problem however was that he had a weak pass and was first exploited by the Cheetahs when instead of marking SBW they marked the runner on his shoulder i.e instead of trying to prevent SBW from offloading they simply marked the receiver of said off-load thus forcing SBW to start giving normal passes and he then started making mistakes like passing behind the receiver or over the receiver's head. Once other teams picked up on this he wasn't as effective anymore and soon after dropped out of favour in the AB squad SBW would be selected for the NZs 7's team for the Commonwealth games but because there are less players on the field your normal passes are more essential and that means far less opportunities for SBW's trademark off-loads and thus you got the same result.
@QSNgg4 ай бұрын
