One of the challenges in defending in rugby is you also have to watch the ball and the support runners, not just the hips, because the player you're tackling is often trying to get you to commit to the tackle so they can offload the ball.
@QSNgg4 ай бұрын
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for letting me know the techniques involved. It helps me learn more about the game and tackling 🙌🏽

If the ball is taken back into your touchdown area by your own team and then grounded it will be a 5 meter line scrum (opponent ball). If the ball is kicked or taken over the touch down line by your opponent and then grounded by your team. It will be a 22 meter drop out (your team can drop-kick the ball from your 22m line). This guy was a magician with ball in hand. Insanely talented player.

Quad Cooper is one of my Master Class No.10 especially his passing skills. The wing that you saw putting his head down is Marika Koroibete from Fiji. He switched from Rubgy League to Rugby Union. There’s another clip where you have Coper and Richie Maccwe these are the baddest rivals when playing against each other. The most deadliest No.10 in Australia history was Stephen Larkham and his Inside Center was Sterling Mortlock these two were untouchables in their prime. Always loving the reactions and especially elaborating on each specific point of the play.🙌🏽💯🇫🇯

If the defending team carries the ball over their own line and grounds it or otherwise makes it dead, the other team gets a scrum on the 5 metre line. If the other team put the ball over the try line and a defending player grounds or kills it, the defending team restarts the game with a drop kick from behind the try line.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for letting me know how that works Patrick. I appreciate you!

A somewhat similar or equally as fun fly hald to watch would be Marcus Smith. You should perharps do a video on him. Quade is an exceptional player with the ball on hand do you notice how often he uses a little jump step before he side steps that oftentimes confuses the tackler because the tackler can't read which he is going to go. In addition a lot of his passing in broken play or even with non first phase are behind the back or under the arm offloads. Well where do you think that came from. He used to live with the great Sony Bill Williams the absolute King of the offload.

Don't know what's up with Australian rugby these days. They were very good in the 90's and won 2 World cups in that decade. I think there is an interesting stat showing head to head vs South Africa over the years they are slightly ahead.
@toptenuniverse54374 ай бұрын

Sorry made a mistake. South Africa lead them 50 wins to Australia 40 wins with 3 draws - just checked the overall stats now - but shows they are a force, or were a force, going through a slump now but u need to remember rugby league and aussie rules football there are way bigger sports than rugby union. South Africa don't play league or aussie rules.

@QSNgg they have a new coach, new zealander Joe Schmidt who is a good coach. There seem to be so many aussie kickers/punters from aussie rules football applying their trade in the NFL now that the NFL have set up a type of IPP program in Australia, like that pathway program in florida that LRZ was on. I see 3 of Rees Zammits mates on that IPP program all got offered NFL contracts along with Zammit. The 1 Irish guy got recruited to new Orleans saints as a kicker. 1 aussie guy as a tight end to Jacksonville jaguars and 1 English guy to the Buffalo bills as an offensive tackle. The English guy only played 8th division rugby in England!!

If he got tackled in the endzone and puts thr ball down, ie grounds it, then it's a 5 meter scrum. If the tackler gets the ball and grounds it then it would be a try. The ball has to be grounded for play to stop, barring a foul, a knock on or the ball going into touch. If it happened to be a knock on then I'm not sure what the rule is on that.
