Just got mine today. This is an extremely snappy feeling crossbar lock - probably the strongest detent strength of any crossbar I've handled (and i think this is 9th brand of crossbar lock I've tried). It feels like you're breaking an actual detent free, rather then just overcoming spring tension. I'm very impressed.

Some of my sharpest edges are from ATS-34. Love that steel. My old Benchmade 720 is screaming sharp. Just ordered a CJRB EKKO today. Been wantin one for awhile. The Vault is going to be a buy as well, not yet.

ATS-34 is some great steel. Have a kitchen knife in it and it is really good stuff.

Dang, I haven't seen ol' ATS-34 in a while! I remember it was THE steel in the 90's for a while. I believe the Kuo He Ji shih ling dao I have are ATS-34... if so, it falls in line with your account of the stuff taking a really sharp edge. These shih ling dao were possibly the sharpest knives out of box I've ever received. Also have a few of the ol' Cutlery Shoppe Gryphon knives in ATS-34, though they weren't honed to such a razor-like edge as the Kuo blades.

You do a lot of cut testing thankfully. But what I don't ever remember you talking about is how you sharpen your knives. I'm not asking for demonstrations but simply what particular angle(s) you may normally use and the grits you use.

i want to buy my first pocket knive and i really want one that i can stick in my pocket (whitout the clip) and not have it open on me. this is something i am worried about. what would you say the chances are of this opening in my pocket wen its in there all losey goosey? i would probably take off the thumbstud if that is possible.

You can flick it open by the crossbar lock and also the thumb studs. That's 2 methods.

It still has omega springs ? I thought it was something different, I’m over omega springs . I’ve had a few break , and they lose tension

Yeah it looks like it does have omega springs. I bought 20 omega springs off of amazon for little money and the knives I’ve used them on have been great so I’m ok with it but it would be nice if they had a coil spring or something similar

Cool... but why are we paying 100 for 14c.. i don't want to start justifying that for companies. 70$ please
