This is amazing! I just built my 30x40 garage/shop this summer and I have been eyeing everything for "shop" equipment and man I really like this small package as long as it could run a 3/4" impact if I absolutely had to but from your video I shouldn't have issues at all! I would love to win one but am definitely looking at making the purchase when they come out!!

@@johnversluis3084 I've been picking up on that slightly deceptive marketing scheme about these qst. While I'll likely be buying the qst 80/120 I know the motor will be considered as a consumable in a sense compared to the compressor itself.

@@zedsdead7670 For the target market of this device, motors are always a consumable. Comparable single and dual stage recip units will also kill motors just as quickly.

Jay - Yes it will run on 208VAC, 1ph but 240VAC is the most efficient. To answer your 2nd question, currently the replacement filters are only available through Eastwood because we want to make sure the quality filters installed on the unit meet our specifications. Hope this helps. Thanks for the interest.

If you cut open a window air conditioner or a home refrigerator, they run scroll compressors. Some cars are now doing it. So it is quiet. But $1500? 240V?

Incredibly quiet. We used it to blast a Camaro and had no issues. It was very impressive.

How would this work in a body shop setting does it get more oil in the air lines than a conventional or less and how good is it at running a spray gun for entire vehicle paint jobs any issues with that

Ahmad Boone well hopefully I win it and can find out lol
@eastwoodco7 жыл бұрын
Kyle, that is a tough question because there are a few factors to consider like age of the compressor and ring wear. But let's assume you have a fairly new piston compressor. The Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Compressor has a very efficient oil/air separation circuit and filter to remove the majority of oil and moisture, however we still recommend an external oil/moisture filtration system, just as you would have on a standard compressor system. To answer the 2nd question, the 30/60 Scroll Compressor will feed up to a 12 cfm HVLP Paint Gun enough air to paint a vehicle at 45 psi to the gun. Hope this helps. Thanks for the interest .
@throttlebottle59067 жыл бұрын
what I didn't hear covered is the "oil, oil filter, air filter and moisture separator change interval" I see there was a fancy sticker explaining it, but not covered in the video,and is there an hour meter..
@eastwoodco7 жыл бұрын
We recommend changing the oil and filter every year. The oil can be purchased from Eastwood (which we recommend), but if you don't get your oil from Eastwood, you MUST be sure to use synthetic scroll / screw compressor oil.

The tank on the Eastwood Scroll Compressor was designed with ½” fittings consistent with home shop use. As for the 100,000 hour scroll life, that is for the scroll compressor pump itself. The motor is warrantied for 2 years when wired to a circuit output of 220-240VAC. Hope this helps.

now I feel kinda stupid for buying a 5hp compressor. Does this compressor have the ability to upgrade motors to something like 5hp? Can it scale up to handle something closer to 18-20cfm at 90psi?
@eastwoodco7 жыл бұрын
Joshua - The Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Cmopressor is a direct drive motor/pump assembly and the HP and motor rpm are tailored to produce the 12 cfm and 145 max psi in the most efficient and energy saving package. We do not recommend moving to a larger motor as no benefit in cfm or max pressure will be realized, just a higher energy cost. Larger units could possibly be available in the future.

Where do you get the idea that piston and other types of compressors don't use oil? No oil and they'll seize in about 5 seconds.

@@GGigabiteM You have many type of oil free compressors, and YES also 'piston type' mostly sell scroll type (AC) and at high power compressors the Z series from (AC) Atlas Copco., are usually powers of ~200Amp and +++. Because these are expensive machines, in EU (Europe) oil injected compressors are often used with spectial "food grade oil"

It drives all of your tools because it is designed for 100 duty cycle. How does its electric consumption compare to a 60 gallon traditional running for less time?
@eastwoodco7 жыл бұрын
Brian, let's assume the electric rate is $0.16/KW Hour. The Eastwood Scroll Compressor at 240v with the 3.3 HP motor equates to 2461 watts. Convert this to KW and multiply by $0.16 and you will have $0.39 to operate per hour. A typical 60 Gallon Piston Compressor at 240v with a 5hp motor equates to 3730 watts. Convert to KW and multiply and you have $0.59 cost to operate per hour. This means the Eastwood QST 30/60 Scroll Compressor not only saves you money when you buy it, it saves you money every time you use it! Plus it isn't much louder than a Central Air Unit. It barely makes any noise.

U should put the names of the guys on screen. In Europe, people get to know those persons by name, and as time goes by, the contact between customer and company feels more personal for the customer... Just an opinion. Not knowing the names of the guys feels somewhat generic, at least for europeans. Otherwise, great work !!!
