They are so cute Mags and I bet less destructive 😂 than the girls if they got in the garden. Have a fab week head, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦

Hi Ali. They are definitely less destructive although if they got out they wouldn’t last long as everything would be after them - dogs, cats, rats, magpies, crows, foxes, etc. They are cuties though.

your setup is amazing, everyone should be using it as a guide for coturnix quail in my opinion, you've prioritized the needs of the birds over convenience for yourself which is exactly how we should be raising them

Hi mags just wondered about your quail set up in the garden i have quails had been thinking about it for years before i found your videos do you ever have problems with foxes or rats im trying yo figure out how to make an outside enclosure for them here in kent thank you

Hiya. I built as predator proof runs as possible. Mine are off the ground (helps my creaky back when I’m cleaning them out and collecting eggs) as well as meaning they are easy to interact with. I use 16g weldmesh 1/4 inch which will keep out anything from a mouse upwards.

Do you trim their nail’s yourself? I have a problem with mine and their nails growing really long.

Hi, how do you care for the quails over winter. Do they have to go in a shed?
@mygardenanddinosaurs4 ай бұрын
Our weather doesn’t get too cold in Winter. Rarely it might go minus ten but more often minus 4 or 5. The quail cope with this fine. I do add clear tarps round most sides to keep out driving rain and icy winds though. However I always leave some gaps to allow air flow.
