The most daring choice in this whole song might be the complete absence of reverb on the vocals while the instrumentation is lowered in the mix in the verses. It makes it feel almost uncomfortably intimate in the little quiet spot right after she sings, "I've been thinking 'bout you quite a lot". I feel guilty for not even knowing who she is - which, knowing the late, great SOPHIE, was completely intentional. Rest In Peace.

I read a story about a young girl in Soviet Russia who was abducted by the Nazis. I actually have more respect for this now that ive seen the music video. I think the whole "hey qt i feel you even though your so far away" lines are a critique on the current culture of being disconnected from people in real life and only feeling a connection with people through a digital landscape. This is even more evident when she is looking through charts to find someone who has an emotional connection/attachment to her, and filling her "happiness" meter. And then to bring the message full swing you realize that she is selling a product. "drink qt" so all her efforts to get your attention where a marketing ploy for a soft drink. I think that there is a lot of symbolism in this video talking about how things might look 10 years from now on a commercial and sociopolitical level. just my 2 cents.
