Ppl keep mentioning the in-app looping adding to the humor but seem to have forgotten that most of these vines werent popular at all while vine was active, they became popular thru the vine compilations that came after the death of vine. The humor came not from immediate looping but from seeing them repeatedly in a bunch of different comps n them also being easily quotable. It was incredibly easy as a teen to throw out "yeet" "uh yeah i sure hope it does" "welcome to chilis" "ya moms a hoe" "why tf u lyin" etc etc etc in random conversations n since most other teens had also watched vine comps they immediately got the reference.
