Hi there. Regarding statement 2, here's a counterexample. For this series: 34, 45, 45, 55, 56, 57, 60, range = 26, mode = 45, median = 55. With this series, you couldn't say that at least one pupil got more than 70. What is the relationship between the mode and the range? Thanks!

+upsadaisy11, you are right. Nothing stops you to choose a minimum value smaller than 45. That method works only for the third statement when the minimum cannot be lower than 0. Good job spotting it!!!

Thanks for this, really dreading these questions but now hopefully I can remember these. tricks. Can you do a video on conversions when they say things like 'If i take 5miles equal to 8km' and then they use time within the question too.. they're multistep/conversation and hard!

Surely if you take the median and subtract/add half of the range, that would give you the same result? That's how I worked it out in the practice test and I think it was okay. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Bethany Griffiths alas if only it were that simple 😀. The median is the middle value but is not fixed to be midway between the min and max. In short, you got lucky!

For statement C 75 is the range so maximum value should be at least 75 .....so the statement is false at least one pupil would have scored 75 or above for the range to be 75....

I think I passed largely due to youtube videos and also the mock tests on the government site. sta.education.gov.uk/ One thing to be aware of, you should practice listening for the mental arithemetic section. I thought they put the whole text of the question up on the screen, they don't and there was at least one question where the answer hung off a particular word. Basically practice listening!
