I live in your community. Please Please have good reliable security. Response time in our area is longer then in town, and many people are aware of the cost of things in your house and many many suffer here from poverty and often fall to temptation. I am glad you are moving in finally! My brother in-laws family owned this place for a while and just never got the funds to fix everything up. I am so happy you have honored this place!!

Unbelievable! When you said your big table came from a Library, I had to wonder... Guess what? Your big oak "dining room table" came from the old library in my little town of Galesburg, Illinois!!! The construction for our new library started about the same time you started the work on your Schoolhouse. I'm so glad to hear the old library furniture is being repurposed.

@Heidi51616 Loved your comment in calling the school “her”. And yes, she needed to be saved. Several years ago, I cashed in some childhood bonds to give a friend that bought a hundred +plus years old church that a small town was going to tear down. I just wanted to “save” it. The stained glass windows are fabulous. I wish had more funds to help my friend because the bell tower is leaking pretty bad. But I figured I extended her life a few more decades. My friend does live there.

I am stunned that you've been able to pull it all together and make a truly fabulous home. I saw a much earlier video that couldn't have been long after you bought the school and remember thinking..."There's just no way those 2 are going to turn that old schoolhouse into a safe living environment...in their lifetime." I stand corrected, you were more than up to the task and it's really breathtaking what you've accomplished there. It's a 1-in-a-million, no billion, home. A huge congratulations to you and your husband...and those hard working folks that helped, for doing the impossible (at least to me).

I went to a grade school like that in Milton Wisconsin. I was a preteen and I'm 82 now. Those buildings were so unique and embracing to a child, warm and comfortable. Also, my older daughter is moving back home and we're thinking of painting her old room with the persimmon paint from your line! It's not NEARLY as exciting as an entire move, but sometimes it's the little things. Comment edit #3. Also found out my older daughter watches you too! It's a whole family love affair! LOL!!! It really does say something special that you've captured the attention and hearts of me and my two daughters because we're all so different from one another and yet, we all randomly found our way to your lovely home. LOVE things like that!! Kizmet? Maybe.

2:24 - I'm a huge nerd for lighting - I think what would look *amazing* is "Up-Down," lighting fixtures by the front door! Right where your 2 porch lights are now - replace them with the fixtures that shoot light up & down - this would highlight that cement pillar on each side of the doors. This project you're doing is so awesome!!!

This am, they yelled so loud when they read, "we moved in!" I myself love this even more. Growing up, our church rented an old school house very similar to yours! Upstairs was all classrooms which we used for Sunday school and nurseries. Principal office was the pastor's office. Downstairs where the cafeteria/kitchen had been was where we had church service. I mean, even the walking in area was the same! I always told my mom it would make a great house! I'm so glad someone else is living my dream! These updates don't arrive fast enough. I LOVE all the work completed. You must be so happy!!! And I LOVE the new fridge. I'm going to have to look into that water filter. I also LOVE the table and the John Dillinger story. How cool is that? I especially love the width of the table which makes it convenient for centerpieces and flowers. It completes your kitchen, which is my favorite room of any home. I just wish I had the room like you to put a bookshelf for all my cookbooks and cocktail books. I purchased a small pebble ice maker as we're into the Tiki cocktail thing. I have an almost identical area rug that you have under your sofa in the living room. The shower holders are amazing. The bathroom tile colors are so beautiful. What a great job on the roof deck. I remember all the warm rainy days I experienced in Indianapolis, and how wonderful it would be to sit up there during one. I envy your garage. It seems we never have enough room for things in ours. I dream of a workshop but that would require a bigger house, and in California, even slightly bigger can send you into the millions. I'd rather retire comfortably. Your pup is so cute. I have two cats. They obviously can not break dance. They just lay around all day. Congratulations on how beautifully it's coming along. Can't wait for the next update.

The. Table!! You’re right, quarter sawn oak would be a fortune to have made. What a great find! And your pup is adorable. I’m so glad to see you moving through this transition into a more settled place. Renovation is a long slog, but you all have really made a special place there. Now you need a short school bus outfitted as an RV for when you travel! LOL! PS, love that you made the fizzy water thing work without those annoying replacement bottles. Might have to try that. Keep up the good work, love the front entrance porch. Want to store some of our cars in your airplane hanger garage? LOL! Remember that large spaces can make you feel isolated and disconnected, so remember to intentionally create some small cozy places where you can reconnect with yourself and each other. So glad to see you making so much amazing progress! 💕

nice place, the reason for that raised platform out the front was for the horse and carriage and all they do is get off and step on the platform when it is raining instead of walking on the ground due to mud and keep their shoes clean instead of muddy

Amazing work. Just stumbled upon the time lapse of the full project and then watched this one. Seems like a real dream come true and wonderful place to raise a family. I have kids of a similar age to these little ones and they would absolutely love running around there. Best of luck!

Love watching this project. You and your family are adorable. I always wanted to live in an old bank. If we get the opportunity, you have inspired us to video the project timeline as well. Cheers!

Dogs are family. Watched all these videos, and you should be very proud you saved some history and turned it into a home. I hope you get to finish everything, especially the basement. Then, finally, the yard. Good luck. I look forward to the updates.

Stumbled across your channel. 🎉 I’m a Muncie native, a Widower of our 40 years together 😢 I moved here to SunCityWest , a 55+ Community 4 years ago. Love Arizona, don’t miss the Winter’s one bit but we’re in a seemingly never ending Heat wave of 110’s+ 🥵 Best wishes for your new Life

What a dream house this is. So much work, but a true work of love that will serve your family for generations to come. I am especially touched by how much meaning you put into each object you choose. I felt chills when that table was delivered. Oh, the history. Thank you for giving it a new life.

Your home is beautiful, and my wife and I are jealous! I've been watching your vids for awhile, and was wondering, if you are comfortable with it, could you do a breakdown of total costs? We would like to do something like this, but afraid of the price. Thanks, and looking forward to the next update.
