@@johnnathancordy yes I'm very interested in the heavy presets and the more "out there" preset sounds that it has to offer. And have you messed around with downloading presets or captures from the neural app?

It sounds as good if not better than I thought it would. I love deep dives and adjustments, but I also appreciate the out of the box presets. This is nicely set-up and the presets sound great.

Great demo, thanks! Very good sounds also right off the bat. I think that still with most modelers, the sound’s “greatness” is much to do with the pickups and in most cases requires some tweaking to everyone’s own taste.

My idea of fun is watching you play through the presets on a modeller. What I'm fast learning is that my version of fun is what most would call sad or pathetic, but I'm happy enough with my coffee, youtube and headphones. The point being that maybe fun is unevenly distributed, or appreciation of what is fun is lacking some places. I am on the list for a QC and an FM3 - both due within weeks. That's a dilemma, but a fun one to have...

A QC AND an FM3?! Wow that’s WAY too much fun for my feeble mind to handle LOL

@alexwong72 жыл бұрын
@@kiwiramjet5625 I ignored the QC for a few months thinking Fractal's gazillion options meant it had to be better. Then I took the QC to a rehearsal and sold the FM3 a few days later. Think when CorOS 2.0 comes out (the next upgrade for the QC). it's going to be finally the product we wanted at the start, but the basic functionality and the ease at which you can get great tones sets it apart for me. You can get great tones out of any modeller, but for me, what sets it apart is I can get what I want and adjust what I'm using so easily that the tones are better given my limited ability to dial stuff in.

Somehow every amp model sounds the same just with a different EQ. Although in real life they are clearly different. Some have less gain stages, some more, some have small transformers, some larger, some have EL34, some 6L6... but still here I hear the same gain structure, same kind of fizz. Neural DSP entered the modeler market quite late and has a lot of work to do.
@johnnathancordy3 жыл бұрын
You're not the first person to say that. I don't think they're doing as much as some of the competition in terms of modelling power amp behaviour such as sag etc? Could that be part of the reason?
@NamelessMan6663 жыл бұрын
@@johnnathancordy To some degree yes. But of course some interactions and phenomenon of tube amps are in the preamp section as well - the sag also happens there, just like bias excursion etc.

Wow these presets are very underwhelming. I guess you have to tweak your own settings for this to sound good, just like every other modelling unit. I'll have to say that when it comes to the Van Halen style presets, the first patch on the Hotone Ampero blows the one demoed here way out of the water. I listen you 2nd video on presets. I'm looking for Fender and Vox cleans or with just a bit of OD.

A lot of them are rubbish, completely unusable for any practical purposes. Also, you can't switch seamlessly between presets mid song, so unless you're using one setting for a whole song they aren't much use. I've had a QC 6 months now and I'm yet to be convinced it's any better than a few good pedals and a decent amp.
