Great job again with such a tricky but rewarding setup. You are succeeding in fully show ready profiles where others are not.

QC may be “tighter” at first but sounded off compared to the real jp2c. The final tweaked profile is far superior.

kemper sounded much closer to the JP2 even before tweaking,the QC has much less gain and top end,with alot more mid freq/kemper beat the crap out of QC in this test

Agreed, but IMO neither sounded enough like the amp to make me not want a JP-2C 😂

We literally have too many options now. You have more patience than I do. I get ear-fatigue doing this kinda thing. I have to keep walking away, or I will make things worse. The longer I try to dial-in a tone, the worse it gets! 😆

Thanks for commenting. Honestly, I spend no more than a few minutes on something and then if I can't make it happen, I'm done with it. I refuse to spend a ton of time on dialing in a tone. Because I know that my ear fatigue will take over and start playing tricks on me and the next day I'll just hate it anyways

I'm SO glad you did this video. After watching it with headphones in, it's reassured me that I much prefer the actual tube amp to a digital profiler rig. To my ears, neither sounded as good as the actual amp did. This is probably why Randall Smith isn't into the profiling market. He knows his amps are too "Tricky" 😉
@benburnett81092 жыл бұрын
The idea that Randall Smith isn't into the profiling market is just a stupid idea. Randall would do the "digital thing" if he were good at it but just like amp building he sucks at digital. Randall smith has raped the guitar community for years and guys like you suckle at his teat of deception. YOU CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN A MIX AND STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU CAN! It's ok to love Mesa stuff just dont make a fool out of yourselve defending Mesa. Food for thought. Happy new year!

Dude - YOU are the man! You can't argue with the final results. Both units are fantastic tools that allow us to have access to a palate of amps that I personally would never have access to. Since I have a Kemper, of course I'm biased just a smidge.😁 But with the information you provide - with video evidence - you can't argue with real, unbiased results - which are hard to come by today - except right here. I've heard that the Kraken is another amp the Kemper "struggles" with. Is that the case? It certainly is an excellent time for gear! My GAS is a perpetual flame that's never satisfied. It's simply pacified for a month or two! Keep doing the good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤘😁🤘

Hey Brett, good hearing from you. Yes the Kraken is a bit of a puzzle for the Kemper. I'm gonna profile that one soon
@Lokair542 жыл бұрын
As opposed to capturing or profiling building from scratch could you build a setting to match or build a better amp setting? the few times a messed with a Kemper I liked the builds that a friend built from scratch over captures he done. Just an opinion of some one who has less than say 4 hours even messing with one.
@TONEWARSgearshow2 жыл бұрын
I don't know how your friend built something from scratch on the Kemper. It only does profiling. That said, profiling and capturing will always be better than building a preset from scratch with modeling involved. Modeling is old Tech and it's dying. Profiling is surpassing it by leaps and bounds.

@@TONEWARSgearshow I asked him he said he started with a profile and just made a load of adjustments(i guess there are some terrible profiles available), I guess I miss under stood him, My bad completely. and then I compaired it to anouther JP2C+ Profile and then to My JP2C+(which has asked to profile).

The noise that Mesa amps make are an audible tool to let the guitarist know that his Mesa is still on. With Mesa's propensity to die on the spot; Mesa engineers allow a medium hiss to come thru the amp to let the player know that the amp is still working.

I'm glad I am not the only one who hates MESA amps. LoL! 😆
@benburnett81092 жыл бұрын
I don't hate them. They are just a horrible company that puts out mediocre amps at the highest prices possible. Then you have to buy additional equipment to get the Mesa amp to sound good????.........And they suck! And the amps are not a quality product. And they are a horiible value. Even Metallica switched to diezel. And they have unlimited funds!! IF mesa amps were good, Metallica would continue to use them. But Jamz switched to Diezel and Kirk switched to Randall. Only the "bearded wonder" known as JP could be bought. But of course, he is owned by EVERY company out there. The only company that does not endorse John " I am really good at guitar but I don't sell any albums" Petrucci is Chrysler.

@@joejohnson8966 kemper is so close to amp that 90% of people (and i'm generous..) could'nt tell the difference in blind test, but now it's outdated by a new product ? lol you're victim of marketing my friend :-)

@@joejohnson8966 i don’t think the concept of “outdated” exist in something like a good guitar tone. Whether it sounds good or it doesn’t. Otherwise 1965 Fender amps and classic Marshall’s would be outdated just because they are old.
