I play through a Diezel VHX and I just tried the MT100 because it has a completely different overdrive sound. At first it sounded amazing, but after about 3 minutes the sound changed and I had to let it cool down before the sweet high gain sound returned. I didn’t buy because I think this one was a dud. But, when it’s at its best, amazing tones if you can eq out of the woolly frequencies.

Im going to throw this out there...and I realize it is a bit off topic, but there is a reason. We are talking about the updates to the tonex...great.....a little not impressed with the latency switch (No spillover). But now the real question. I know it is subjective....but cost of the tonex CAD is a bigger jump than the USD. Canadian it is Tonex $499 and Nano $799, which sucks with the exchange. Now the final thing. Your Opinion J. I am not concerned with capturing anything. Someone below mentioned just plug in to the unit and a great amp tone. I would not go for the Nano because of the spill over, if the tone is real and feels good to play with Tonex.....its a $300 CAD difference for nothing really. Why would use the Nano? Is the Tonex fully capable ? I actually have one of those old AX-8s....couldn't you just put a tonex in to an effects loop, which can give you all the before or after amp fx you want?? How do you connect Tonex to HX stomp?

I don’t get why there’s so many negative comments about this amp, it sounds amazing. So far every video I’ve seen of the Badlander 25 has been very positive. In fact I was dead set on getting either the Engl Ironball or Fireball 25 until I saw videos for the Badlander 25 now I want it over the Engls.

Thanks for commenting. I know the amplifier sounds good. The problem is, the demos of it are terrible. Everybody knows the amplifier is amazing. They're just pissed off because Gibson doesn't know how to present the amplifier to the public. They are dialing it in horribly.

Jared, I just bought a mint EVH III Stealth 100 watt head for $1,500 and have the chance to get the matching EVH 2x12 cab for $400. What do you think of these cabs? I already have a Mesa 2x12 horizontal cab that sounds great. But for only $400, I wonder if it's worth it to have a matching head/cab. Thanks.
@TONEWARSgearshowКүн бұрын
@@AzaelVI thanks for commenting. Good question. I've never played through any of the evh cabs yet. I've heard good things about them so I guess for that price, it's worth a try right?

@TONEWARSgearshow Probably worth it. If for nothing ells, to have a matching set I suppose. I'm dialing the head in tomorrow. I'll be using your recommendations for this head and trying several boost pedals. To hell with all the "boost Karens!"

@AzaelVI sounds good. Yes, the control switcher allows you to control amplifiers via a quarter inch cable without the hum. Hopefully this helps.

Glad I found this channel. very insightful. My issue. Have a new MT15. Using 4CM with it. Cant get the HX effects to change channels . It has a loud hum. How did you get your line six to change the MT15 amp's channel. Ive tried a TRS cable and a guitar cable. Still loud hum. Bought hum eliminator but wont allow to switch channels.

Good Grief, you're using that amp completely wrong. 😑 That has six master volumes and switchable power amp tubes for a reason you know. So you could get certain power amp overdrive for each channel. Never ever max out the master - That means the power amp is completely oversaturated thus your sound becoming undefinied mush. And thats why every channel kinda sounds the same in your case. Also: Real metal amps usually come with a lot of head room, so the power amp tubes don't reach their break point and you can work a lot more with the preamp overdrive that is a lot more transparent.

Adding to Jarrod’s practice advice; he is 100% correct. I am an EVH mega fan and recently bought courses that cover his material in really good depth, along with a course covering Yngwie Malmsteen’s work. Learn the parts, piece by piece, and then play them over and over again…for at least 15 minutes a day (30-45mins if you can). What Jarrod said is what happens…you start noticing you are able to play those techniques better with each passing week. Just make sure you stay consistent and practice with a purpose!

You should try the blackstar amped 1 as a power amp. Been kind of torn between a quilter or amped 1 to run my preamps through. I've been using a mooer baby bomb 30 and its never really done it for me.
@hanktteotdКүн бұрын
I really don't think you'd go wrong either way. I've had both superblocks and they were both really awesome. I have the Amped 1 now and I love the power amp modeling. It really adds that extra something I was missing with a simple turn of a knob. You can do the same with EQ with some work, but its just nice and easy having it built in. Its also incredibly loud at 100W mode! It pushes those chugs in such a great way. I don't think anyone would be able to tell it between a tube power amp in a mix.
@billyturk8117Күн бұрын
@hanktteotd yeah dude, I was looking around last night, and I'm pretty sold on the amped 1. It's a bit cheaper than the quilter 202 models, also. Every demo I've seen of the amped 1 powering pedals, It sounds great. I cant tell the difference when shot out with a tube power section lol. Plus, it powers 8/16ohm with no power loss and I can jam on 1 watt at the house.
@hanktteotdКүн бұрын
@ its seriously awesome. I also love that you can send your signal out from the power amp and line out to a mixer simultaneously. I haven't tried the built in stuff with the Architect app yet, I do wish it let me load at least a few IR’s instead of just having an option to use external IR’s with another device but I can't complain with how good it sounds and all it offers. And its MIDI controllable so you can utilize any setting with any PC change from your modeller! Pretty killer! Kyle Bull did an awesome power amp shootout on his 2nd youtube channel just running through the FX return of a ton of different power amps and I honestly thought the Blackstar Amped 1 was easily in the top 3 of how they all sounded to my ears.

Can someone please just make a 15w or 50w max power amp for such purposes? The volumes I play at, I can barely move the volume knob and it's so sensitive. I just don't understand why frfr cabs and amps like this go so hard for more power. They say "headroom" but like holy crap you truly don't need that much.

The Mooer Tube Engine is great for home use.
@hanktteotdКүн бұрын
The quilter amps “master volume” is really a wattage control knob so you can achieve whatever wattage you're going after. They also have 50W options and the 22W Superblock series that are great. Blackstar Amped 1 has a 20W and 1W option on it. I think Lichtlaerm just came out with a 60W power amp pedal that looks pretty awesome. Size of a Boss pedal with full EQ. I forget what its called. Car in Mach 1 is a stereo 50W per channel power amp. Its incredibly neutral sounding if that's what you're after. Moore Baby Bomb 30W. Electro Harmonix has several power amp pedals. Mooer Tube Engine is 20W and I've heard good things. Its pretty hard to find but if you can snag one of those its probably you're best option at the price point.
