I run my Fafnir as 3 RAC2, 4 SRM6+Artemis. It's an insane amount of firepower inside around 330 meters, and it actually runs pretty cool depending on how you build it (engine choice, amount of heat sinks vs armor).

2x RAC-5s & 2x AC-2s score higher DPS for significantly lower weight & heat. You do lose a bit of DPS at range, but the AC-2s never jam and have no spool-up time. The Annihilator 2A can run 2x RAC-5s and 4x AC-2 with a LE 300; the MAD 4L can run 2x RAC-5 and 2x AC-2s with ECM, AMS, and a LE 350.

Have you tried thus build with standard heat sinks? You can chew through an atlas at full health or at least almost 2 mediums before you have to stop and cool down without using a cool shot to help achieve the free weight drop to a LE280 go for full mobility since you wont be needing operations. This build works really well on a annihilator too

It’s funny... this is a fun build but it’s kinda odd when compared to something like a RACHawk. A ShadowHawk can carry 75% of the fire power (triple RAC2’s), equal ammo, similar cooling, half the armor but double the speed in a smaller target... I guess it comes down to what you really need, but I think I’d take my Hawk over this Faf.
@mattmcdonald71125 жыл бұрын
to be fair thats true of a lot of things, plenty of heavies can take similar firepower to an assault, can run 4 ultras on a night gyr, or 4 on a mad cat for example
@noahha59725 жыл бұрын
haha ignoring the ghost heat altogether is pretty innovative
@twig46612 жыл бұрын
yes, but do it with 4 rac 5's. if you pop the cool shot before you fire, you can get at least 3 seconds before overheating, and about 9-10 before melt down

This is why I don't do what everyone else does and damn near completely strip the armor from your back. I leave about 12 points on any assault mech on the back. Helps stave off those glancing blows that often just flat out kill you, Bara. xD
@rowanyo50313 жыл бұрын
That 7 extra points of armor isn’t going to really do a thing for you and would serve much more use in your front. This is just bad gameplay and awful advice. Use your eyes and ears and things will stay out of your back.
@imglidinhere3 жыл бұрын
@@rowanyo5031 It does more than you think and in a game like MWO where stuff is more often in your back than not, having a little more than paper protecting your backside helps quite a bit, especially in a SLOW FAT ASSAULT MECH. In a faster heavy or medium? Sure that makes sense. Big, heavy, lumbering, WIDE assault? Add a little more armor to the back.
@rowanyo50313 жыл бұрын
@@imglidinhere Position yourself and you don’t need to worry about a flea, if you’re worried about something BIGGER than a flea than you’re in the wrong spot or your team is dead and a little more back armor isn’t going to help. Things are going to be in front of you for the most part and spending enough to get 12 armor is silly.
@imglidinhere3 жыл бұрын
@@rowanyo5031 I've been playing MWO since it launched. You can't simply reposition yourself like that. It mitigates the threat to some extent, but with as often as stealth mech builds show up, that's like saying "to avoid LRM damage, take cover!" Completely ignoring the fact that you're on Polar Highlands. I actively take advantage of heavier mechs that neglect their rear armor. It's saved my internals by adding a little more toughness to my backside and in the case of this video, would have helped.

Good evenign Baradul. Would you consider doing a troll build? An ANH-2A with 6 LGRs? I used no armor, a 200 engine and about 4 1/2 tons of ammo. Turns into some sort of a rapid fire twin barreled LGR. And to spice it up, try doing 2 head shots. Thanks for your content!

since i'm here i hate the second match tactic. The assaults spawn in the e line, fight in the e line. Form a line at the base of the ramp and kill them piecemeal as they head to the top, but people still insist on going right and taking the top second, the fact the other team didn't have the top when he got there was pure hesitation by the other team.
