I am confident in this music vid Theory: Could it be that this story is partially about quad, or the protagonist having ended their life to to have the spotlight put on them, so that people would see his art or the metaphor used: laugh at his jokes. But this only caused the spotlight to shine on him with a sad cold light as people only mourned him instead of laughing at his jokes/ seeing his art for what it was. The spotlight remains on him, but for the wrong reason, and now he can't escape it and no one will remember him for what he wanted them to. He begs those by his grave to laugh, still as a metaphor for soaking in his art, but no one does. He becomes desperate and regrets the tactic to end life to gain prestige or become a famous artist. He tries to feel for a key on the other side of life, or even of the coffin that's become his grave, in order to return to the world to correct his image, but to no avail. He turns to hide from the mourning, sad spotlight but he can't. Even being dragged back into the spotlight in the clip in the last part of the music vid. I think the message this song is meant to send is to talk about the myth that if an artist dies they'll finally be highly regarded and people will finally try to look deeper into their art for explanations, but in reality the sadness the spotlight brings outshines everything else, and you will more be remembered for your death than your art. That's my take anyways. Try watching the music vid again with this in mind.

I used to do ketamine therapy for severe depression (I had to stop because my health insurance stopped covering it), when I was under the effects of the drug this was one of my favorite songs to listen to. Just hearing the distorted guitar in the beginning takes me back to the feeling I would get listening to this song while tripping on ketamine. @Sosa relentless go hard, off the jump the beat and production are top tier, your lyrics match the flow and pace of the song extremely well, only grip I have is you sound a little too off, like your lyrics match the song, but your pitch and how you deliver the lines makes you sound a little monotone, kinda like a robot and throws me off a bit, but other than that 10/10 song. Pretty much the same things I have to say about doozy and convict. I’m not gonna lie, In addition to loving the song and literally everything about it from instrumentals to the outfits in the vid, it honestly made me smile to see quadecas smile again!

The fact that I've been listening to Quad since middle school and seen his music just explode into some of the shit that I'll listen forever is just crazy cause it feels like we all grew up along side him too

I love how hard you're leaning into this new sound. The feedback you got on Sisyphus must've really been special. This new album is gonna kick ass, can't wait.

I think the video is how rapping gave him the spotlight, which he liked at first, but then tries to run away from it, but always keeping the microphone, showing his love for music

I would love to play this album when it releases on my campus’s radio broadcast. It is a very sonically pleasing experience

to be honest: i wasn’t a big fan of his first album. The second album was better but it didn’t quite made it’s uniqueness stand out, but those first two singles right here are absolutely genius. This is such a beautiful sound palette and it makes you connect to the music to a nearly uncomfortable level. Holding back my tears , this is beautiful, much love and respect for this development

I agree. His early work was very mid, and he didn't peak my interest until Sisyphus. This is amazing

i loved voice memos but when i go back to some of the songs i’m like “how tf did i enjoy this so much” still a few on there that were solid, but once sisyphus dropped i knew exactly why he took so much time away

Every artist grows/evolves as they continue to create. And why it’s important to experiment w different sounds etc and keep what you like drop what you don’t and blend them into what you feel like is you. I like both those albums, but you can also see his music continues to improve And music/other art forms are completely subjective so I get where you’re coming from

one of my fav video techniques you do is have these purposefully grainy shots before cutting to some HD shot, just makes the higher quality shots have more impact and it's usually as a "HD" moment of production is happening in the song. A1 art as usual Quad!
