I have the Kicker speaker and they are horrible. They are so bright! Treble is -6 and it’s still piercing when you put it over 25.

The reason for that is because of what I'm going to say .......and what they won't tell the customers. I also have a 2023 392 extreme recon wrangler with the subwoofer system, just said that for context. I install stereos all the time, I figured how hard can it be right, absolutely wrong. The stock head unit has a constant full range voltage which IS NOT controlled by that unit, but is controlled by the amp, once the connection between head unit and amp is established, the AMP then seperates every speaker with its own signal, meaning, your soundbar has two speakers on each side, one tweeter, one woofer, the woofer signal carries bass and low voice signals, the tweeter signal carries the highs, so no matter which way you hook a speaker up in the sound bar or kick panels etc, you will either be sacrificing highs or lows, the only way to beat this is another head unit with amp etc, or a box which intercepts the radio to amp, but you will still need an amp. That's why you are getting crazy highs, because that's all that signal plays, switch it to other connection and you will see you are missing highs. Hope this helps. 👍👍👍

Why did you leave the 3.5” speaker plugged in and installed to only cover it up? Could I cut the hole in that other recess on the face to mount a 3.5” aftermarket speaker and use the wiring from that speaker to drive it?

@@dsparksguitar They have for 24 now. Quadratec JL-24KWR5.25 , but seriously 400 plus for plastic housing that has 50 bucks kicker speaker in it, no thanks. I will wait for someone else to come up with more honest pricing. Terrible to see Quadratech playing on one of the first ones to come with solution and gouging money off their loyal customer base.

Make decent adapters without speakers and sell it for $150 - will sell all day and people will get to pick their speakers. Forcing them to use $40 speakers is not good at this price.
