gcses were much easier thanks to you... now i'm doing A/Ls for math which i thought would never happen, and it's so daunting and i can't really understand or memorize some of the stuff in class so thanks a lot for this!

Is it necessary to show the working for factorising the quadratic, or can we just use the quadratic formula and write down the two values for x?

You can do either, even completing the square

4:47 what is going on there, like how? I watched the whole solving quadratics video and nothing looked like that, how does the -1 after it gets tripled to -3 add up to -10 with the other -3 surely it makes -6, I’m so confused

I thought it would need to be the other way round and be (3y-3)(y-1) because -9-1=-10

I think it's just another way of expanding the bracket, you can do it the other normal way, by just multiplying (2-y)(2+y) and you should get the same answer

At 31:10 isn’t it 16k squared -1

No: as the 64k^2 was divided by 4k, it removes one k - think of the two being the amount of k's (e.g. k^2 means kk, so taking one k leaves with just k). so it becomes 16k^1, which is just 16k. (basically dividing by the letter removes one from the powers of k).
