Do you do online consultations? You seem to be the bests physio I’ve seen! I have a PCL (or ACL) tear, which even doctors can’t diagnose correctly. MRI shows no tear, but according to tests - 50% of doctors and physios say it’s ACL and the other 50% - PCL. I can “wobble” my tibia myself easily, it looks like it’s not attached to the rest of the leg, as if there’s just skin and muscles holding it. So if I decide to do the op - I can’t choose the right doc. Because there are separate specialists for ether ACL or PCL. Nightmare..

@@gracemcdaniel4221 yes, MRI - both look intact. Doc. said it happens - it’s stretched not torn.

Hi, Actually Sir I wanted to know your opinion on my knee. My story is gonna be a bit lengthy but please read it. I need your opinion, please sir! I was playing a football match where I tried to change direction while defending a striker but my legs got stuck. I heard a sound & I immediately straightened my knee. However, then I just sat down & grabbed my knee. My knee was paining at that moment, I got out of the field for a few minutes. My friends applied Relief Spray on my knee which I think wasn't a good idea. I went back on the field & had few touches on the ball & slow run. I was substituted by my coach. I was able to bend my knees to an extent but till I reached home after 3-4 hours (accompanied by 1 km walk from the bus stop), my knee had swelling & bending was decreased as compared to the initial injury. I came back home & rested. My swelling & pain was gone within a week. I rested for around 2 weeks & went back for football. I was able to play at my best & my knee was performing great. I thought I had an MCL injury which got healed bcoz of rest. But after around 15 matches when I was doing a stepover & planted my knee, I heard a low volume sound from my knee. Again, my knee had swelling for a week. But this time my knee got rid of swelling slightly faster & the pain this time was less. I rested for a 2 weeks & got back. Again played more than 10 practice matches but at a certain angle, my knee does have a problem. Like when I plant my leg at that certain angle my knee makes a sound. This happens only while stepovers or chop type of skills when I plant my leg at that certain angle. It's been over a year, I play & after 10 matches or more, I hear that sound, swelling & all. However, after sustaining 5 such episodes my knee doesn't swell much & I can return to the field after 5-10 minutes. I sometimes plant my leg at that certain angle, I just sit & rest for 5-10 minutes & I can play. I have consulted an ortho after 1 year. The doctor said my ACL is ruptured & I can't play football without a surgical repair. I have read alot about ACL but those signs don't apply to me entirely. I can run, sprint, pivot, jump, land on 1 leg, chop, etc. So I don't trust what the ortho said, doing Lachman Test & few other. Even my family said my knee didn't look highly lax as compared to a few positive Lachman test videos. I didn't trust the Ortho because he concluded ACL rupture without an MRI. I don't have any issue of knee stability. My knee doesn't give away. The only thing that makes me think is that "Sound" & few minutes swelling. Another thing, I can shift my tibia a little forward. Following are few video links that can give an exact idea. Please, sir, have a look. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moarhJWdp7Vgd9k kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp7Pq4yQnL2obbc kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5jbmGp3nZt1hJI I can shift my right knee tibia like in the video, especially like the 1st one (regenexx). Overall: At a certain angle, my knee produces that sound Swelling appears but really less as compared to my 1st injury I can now return to play in a few minutes after getting that injury sound I can shift my tibia forward That's all that I feel about my knee. I actually don't feel my ACL is ruptured because, without an ACL, a person cannot play football especially more than 10 games. Thanks for reading my long story. Please, sir, give your opinion regarding my knee. Why does my knee produce that sound when I plant at that specific angle, why I can shift my tibia? Please give your opinion.

Hyper extension injury or hyper flexion for PCL?
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's what the literature describes
@crazymel1982
@crazymel1982 6 жыл бұрын
disagree, not all literature says so. I read several articles saying mostly hyperflexion of the knee (which is also said during the minor I study). However, some studies also mention about hyperextension. Just saying aloud.

Here is the web page with your videos guys :) www.physio-pedia.com/Posterior_Cruciate_Ligament_Injury#cite_note-p7-5 isolated PCL injuries were commonly reported in athletes and hyperflexion was the most frequent mechanism of injury. + Hyperflexion is, however, one of the possible causes for a PCL injury. + Which is not very common as hyperflexion is less possible than hyperextension injury. But that doesn't mean the main reason is hyperextension.
@Physiotutors
@Physiotutors 6 жыл бұрын
Don't really get your point. We're talking about possible mechanisms: Both hyperflexion and hyperextension can cause PCL tears. We're not talking about a main reason.
