Guess who's back!!!! Yes that's right. Monday's with Margaret are here again for the whole summer!
I hung out with Margaret and creepily watched her get dressed so I could show you all how awesome she is at figuring out hacks that make quad paws no big deal. Ok maybe not no big deal....but at least she makes living with quad paws look doable! And she always does it with a smile on her face.

Interesting love it! I was going to do my next video on how to put jeans on. I usually put a key ring in the zipper to be able to put it up easier. Also do up the zipper before buttoning the pants which I find helps. That said my pants are a little bit lower waisted. Thanks for sharing! Love seeing other quad hacks! Keep on killing it!

Margaret has great arms! She puts my flabby upper arms to shame. :) I’m loving the videos! I am not handicapped but my elderly father is really struggling with his limitations, and so your videos are really helping me in helping him. THANK YOU. (He is losing function with his lower body, including his legs)

I can't tell you how many belt loops I've broken putting jeans on like that. It's always a good idea to just sew loops on.

Thank you for the informative video. I understand what you go through. I am T4 para with full hand function. I would love to know how you manage pants and using the toilet. (catheterizing and getting pants back up) This is an area that keep me from being independent and needing a caregiver.

Hi Margaret, I have a question about how you self cath. Do you learn through trial and error where the urethra is, or how can you just insert it in the right place when it’s very buried inside us? Please tell if you have any sensation at all. I cannot currently imagine inserting a catheter unless without seeing the “hole”… and tilting the tube in the right angle… and as a quad, I have not been able to open my labias wide enough by myself to do this. So! How do you know where to put that lil ol tube, when you have no sight of your urethra??? Must I become a gymnast and do the splits to be able to do it on my own (10 times a day.. I’ve been having indwelling for 9 years). Thank you!!

I did start with a mirror and I do have some sensation. However, the meatus (your pee hole) “reveals” itself when you do a pass by with a wipe. It was lots of trial and error and funny enough as years have passed I have had my anatomy change and had to rejoin where I poke. After a while found that I knew I’d get it right based on the position of my pelvis, the way my legs butterfly out and my downward view, without ever seeing a front shot of my crotch.

@@kwadgirl my goal is do my own cathing.. but i just dont know how id be able to do it.. im amazed that you can.. and im assuming that your anatomy may be of help to you.. every nurse ive had has to struggle to find my urethra..and im very scared to be poking around down there with a catheter... and to be honest with you.. before my accident i was not even aware of my own urethra.. i had to do an acrobatic squat for me to find it.. i would have to have a tattoo..or something to guide me down there.. horrible. To me.. it's still a mystery ...how you are able to do it...and i can see that you scoot forward to one side.. and that makes sense.. so im thinking your cushion may not be a gel one...J2Deep. I think if i self cathed ..my bladder health would be much better.. Thank you for your help..and Congrats for achieving this level of independence :)
