Lots of good discussion on this one! Tons of people saying DP is top tier, MG42 is B tier, and then other people saying the opposite! Seems like MG's are pretty well balanced!

You know that the mg 42 doesnt fire 1000 rounds/min it fires 1200-1500r/min what has 900r/min is the mg 34

Im telling you, try a squad full of maxed out vickers on semi auto and you will change your mind. I would take a vickers on semi-auto over a charlton, it is one of my favorite LMGs and I actually sometimes take it over the BAR in tunisia

imo DP should be S tier. The lower rate of fire makes it controllable, but more importantly it lets it shoot for longer and use less ammo. Combined with its fast reload it is better than most smgs as a close quarters weapon and can murder squads at range without the need to go prone.

I think another thing to consider is that I've noticed the MG34 tends to sway a little more when hipfiring compared to the MG42 which can be both a curse and a blessing

Don't really disagree with anything you said apart from the ZB. I think it's underrated so I must be one of those "top tier" players you mentioned ;) But I also think all of the MG42/34/30s are overrated by many, they are too hard to control and fire accurately when you're on the move. I know they aren't designed for that and that's the point lol, but my playstyle is like yours so being aggressive/attacking a point with them is basically useless in my eyes

Agreed MG 34/42 are best used while prone coz once you start fireing they move all over the place

It takes practice and some dying but they can be used to push the objective like this, and can cause some real chaos

I really wish there was an M1919A6 for the US. It seems a bit ridiculous that there is a Bren for the Americans but no M1919A6.

Arguably better than the BAR but I respect the decision because I get killed by the BAR sometimes with my German MG squads. I find with the MG42 that makes me agree with a high A is that you're spending far more on it and gunners than you would for the MG34, and of course it wastes alot of ammo. But I still made the effort to get it and I'm not disappointed 👍

IMO some of these MGs really need a buff, specifically the Madsen, Chauchat, and Breda at least to their horizontal recoil. It makes very little sense that these very low capacity, slow rate of fire LMGs have such a huge kick to them Pretty much everything here is spot on though

First campaign completion was Tunisia Axis lol. Really loved the Breda had a soft spot for it and the Zb-26 was just alright. The MG 34 tho judt cannot be topped tho lol. But my two favorite machine guns got trashed :(

IMO the DP is really nice. Super stable, shoots very fast, and the best part is that it reloads FAR faster than the MG-34, so you can keep sending rounds down range without delay. Unlike the MG-34 and 42, the DP can actually afford to reload on the fly as it completes it around the speed that rifles reload

I prefer DPM more as I feel it is the most stable and accurate one out of three dp guns

Based on all the MG's I've used, this list is pretty accurate from my perspective. The Breda is probably my least favorite LMG but it's still an LMG and can put out a lot of hurt, same goes for all the MG's.

When you have a Breda in a good position, with an ammo box nearby and a good sightline and something to perch it on, then you can get 10, 20, or more kills from one gunner. It's a unique weapon among the normal unlocks because even when everything is going right for you you're still wondering how much better you'd be doing with a different weapon. It's in that strange spot for a bad weapon to be in where it's perfectly functional but there's no reason to bring it over its competition besides lack of options.

The mg34 is quite the saving grace. Not only is it in every campaign, but it is also cheap with it costing 1 silver in berlin.

Vickers is my fav LMG in the game - its the most accurate and has the best damage projection out of all of them. Its more accurate then some bolties and even outranges most of em. Has select fire as well, so just treat it as a semi with full auto ability. In fact with its ROF, range and damage projection its the best semi automatic wep in the game. Sights and recoil do suck balls tho.

It's first time I hear sb complain about ZB. This gun is like slightly worse MG13 (excluding sights). I have very good memories with it back from CBT. (note: based on experience from cbt)

As an Italian i approve of the hate towards the Breda It was actually the worst machine gun of the war,so much so that Italian soldiers called It colloquially "The Judas"

Almost all the accuracy things about the bren are myths. Even if it was laser accurate, it would still have a lot of dispersion from recoil. Its accurate "for an lmg" of the day, but thats still like 4 or 5 moa. Probably worse with wartime production 303. Its just a gun, theres nothing magic about it.

I like the MG42 sight over MG34, and its recoil is actually lower per shot but because of the high fire rate it sways around more on longer burst. DT is garbage, its recoil is insanely bad if you want to hold the trigger and the bullest fly over the place even when braced! Its deffo not better then the DP27 which at least can be accurate... it should be seriously buffed to be any sort of usefull when the PPSH exists which has more ammo no recoil, better sights and it can run and gun which you need to do since you are atacking most of the time...

I wouldnt put anything without a semi auto setting in S tier. Using lmgs at long range is one of the main draws of the class and having to burst or focus on clicking fast is really obnoxious. I may be misremembering, but I think aside from at rifles and that one german bolt action, lmgs have the longest 1 tap range.

Man, I'm so sorry but I have to disagree with the MG42's placement. At long range, accuracy with the 34 is shit; it takes so much time to get the sights precisely on target. 42 at long range is easy: generally aim at target and 'brrrrt' = near guaranteed kill. I'll admit I thought it would be shit when I had seven mg34s and one 42, but the 42 was so much better that I ended up replacing all of them. Ammo is really not an issue if you have an engineer and/or large ammo pouches.
