I recently got a Montecristi Fino with a pretty flat 3" brim. I guess with a flat shape like that and the untreated natural straw, you just dont get much of a snap. My other Montecristi with a smaller brim has more of a flange, and snaps very well. I could try to give the brim more of a bowl shape, but the flat brim looks very nice, very sharp. If you want that flat brim look, I guess there is nothing you can do to improve the snap? Just live with it?
