Quadruple Action of Toronto TTC/Metrolinx Line 5 LRVs at Golden Mile Stop! 2/9/2024

The timing!!! Just as I got off the 68 bus, I got two Bombardier Flexity Freedom vehicles crossing paths at the Golden Mile stop from the sidewalk and then a few minutes later just off the stop entrance (I stayed as far back as possible as I gave the operator a thumbs up). Apparently they have been increasing the frequency of testing the vehicles as if it's a normal day as they get ready for possible opening in fall 2024 (just my confidence).

Because there are parts of the underground stations that aren't completed yet.

@AlexGetsAroundTO Sounds like a very cheap excuse. This line should be able to be operational by this summer. Not the end of the year.

There's still work being done to finish the stations. Many of them haven't had their final inspections done before they are allowed to be opened. Also work needs to be done at Kennedy to change the layout of the fare gates to put the entrance to the crosstown in the fare paid areas. Once all the work is completed and signed off on by city inspectors and Metrolinks and the TTC they will do three months of testing to simulate service before it's opened to the public. The three month testing is the reason why they said an opening date will be given three months ahead of it.

Great Video! I live in Mississauga and is an avid transit rider of the Mississauga Transit watching this video of the TTC LRT being tested gives me hope that just like the Eglinton and Finch LRT that after all the headaches, disruptions and chaos of the construction process that the Hurontario LRT will be worth the wait when it's completed and fully in service.

Nice, I used to see 2 LRVs going in the same direction at Victoria Park intersection (O'Connor station). One was on the west side of the intersection, and the other was at the platform.

I was not too far from the area that day. If you went to Kennedy Station, then it’s a near miss.
