It’s beautiful when you have a supportive partner... I’m so incredibly happy for you, I’m emotional. I wasn’t able to feed my baby because my ex husband and his mum decided I wasn’t producing enough when my son was only 2 days old... he bought formula against my will and it’s something I’ll never forget and it’ll always hurt... I watched this video in hopes to get some needed information on pumping my daughters slurpy. She’s been struggling to keep up with her 10 pound newborn. I will saw to everyone that reads this some women are blessed to have partners who are willing to help and be supportive. My daughters husband hasn’t been able to give her that. I have been taking night feedings and helping her catch some needed rest throughout her first weeks with my grandson. I have been getting some much hate and remarks because I am taking over night feedings for her. But as a mom and grandmother I love them both so much that I want both to be happy and good. I raised 4 kids so I am a veteran in this area. So to all the mothers I want to say don’t be ashamed to ask for help and to take the support when offered. It takes a village to raise a child.

I was an exclusive pumper for my daughter. I learned A LOT in my journey and the first thing is that you need to take care yourself to produce milk. That is, eat enough calories, stay hydrated, pump 2-3 hrs during the day 3-4 at night and sleep. There’s not rea magic on any supplements or teas. As long as you take care yourself, I saw that was what consistent with my production. Also, massage and heat can help empty you’re breasts better. Good luck mamas! ❤️

When I nursed my twins, a couple of twin moms suggested I nurse them at the same time. That saved my life. I went from nursing them one at a time for 20 minutes each, to a total of 5 minutes. I’m not exaggerating. The milk let down is so powerful with both at the breast. So 40 minutes to five. Try it.

@@veewambua4632 I designated each twin a breast so the milk supply would be correct. And for a while one was bigger than the other, but easily hidden. At first, someone would help me get them situated, but then, after a while I could situate them myself. Once they latched on, the milk let down was very powerful that they let go and coughed a bit then latched back on. They seriously got so much milk so quickly, that they were satisfied after only five minutes. The very first time, my sister helped. She was across the room and when the twins let go due to coughing from the surge of milk, my milk sprayed all the way across the room and hit her in the face! Lol!

I’m currently 6months pregnant with my second child. I remember with my first child I couldn’t stand the smell of eggs I would get sick while pregnant. But after he was born I would eat 5 eggs a day. Thankfully my aunt knows a egg farmer who had free range organic egg laying hens and she would bring me 30 eggs every 4 days. Idk if this is suppose to help your supply but I never had any issues.. When my babies were in the NICU, I spent more time with the pump than anyone or anything else. But I had an abundance of milk. @@heromha for me personally I was blessed to be able to room in with my son. I pumped every 3-4 hours for like 30 minutes. I would increase the speed to trigger let down and sometimes let it stay on that setting for awhile. Then slow it down for awhile and then do another fast cycle. Stay hydrated. Hang in their MOMMY. Do not beat yourself up as most of us do because we want to support our babies. Your body will supply more milk based on your emotions and diet.. Try remaining positive; watch something funny or that you love, eat your favorite foods to boost your esteem. This will increase your supply. Next, consume lots of bananas, leafy vegetables, salmon, and WATER. A little trick for me is drinking almond milk or eating MEXICAN popsicles (strawberry, mango, coconut). I hope this helps. 🙏🏾❤

Oh and please understand its okay for baby to cry a little so you can eat. Try placing small snacks in the main areas where you care for baby. Lol, thanks again for sharing! i'll let you know how it goes! Thanks for this video. I have premature twins too and my supply suddenly tanked and I got hit with clogged ducts. I'm going to try some of these things so I can actually have some frozen before I go back to work. For other parents, of twins or singletons, 2oz per boob in a pumping session is still pretty good. A lactation consultant told me that even 2oz per day of breastmilk has health benefits for the babies. It's totally normal if you're not filling up a Coke bottle with milk 8 times a day!

My supply is down to almost nothing. I have exclusively breastfed three of my children, but this last baby has trouble latching and drinking much. I could tell he was not gulping, just nibbling. Maybe it is because he has hypotonia. He lost so much weight that the doctor said she was going to admit him to the hospital if I didn’t start formula feeding. He gained weight successfully on formula, but he is now starting to be able to latch onto me and I’d like to relactate. He is almost four weeks old and I barely make any milk! I guess if I can increase my milk supply it will be better than nothing even if he has to get most of his calories from formula.

If there is a latching issue it could be due to a tongue tie. I had the same issue and found out my LO needed a tongue tie correction. My supply returned and have exclusively breast fed with no issues.
@sarahperry79952 жыл бұрын
I have the same issue as well. He wasn't gaining weight in the hospital at four days old. The hospital gave me a day to and a SNS to make him gain weight. Thankfully he did. Since then it's been an upward battle. At week two I found out that he had only gained half the weight he was supposed to and though working with a lactation specialist that my left boob didn't produce hardly any milk, only a few drops for a 15min pumping session. I am currently pumping around the clock, with as many power pumping sessions as I can fit in, usually at least one, sometimes two. My milk supply has increased, I currently make an ounce per breast. Some times an ounce and a half. I feed the baby what I can. He gets the rest through a bottle (pumped breast milk). I think maybe he has a tongue tie that is stopping him from latching properly. I would like to get it checked out and see if that is the problem. It's been such an emotional rollercoaster. I want to be able to breastfeed him normally so bad, but I also don't want to hurt him by not feeding him enough and the sucky thing is that you never know how much you are making, or how much he is actually getting. I just have to do my best with trying to balance the two, by knowing when to quit trying to feed him from the breast and move to the bottle. I hardly have time to eat or even go to the bathroom since I am either pumping or feeding him or giving him a bottle. I have to depend on my husband to make food and help me as much as he can. I am currently on week eight and hope that some day I can actually get some sleep. Good luck to any other mommas in my situation. I really hope you can feed your baby well one day.
