For the cage. I agree to you about the high cage, I just wondering why not make the cage a bit more spacious for the quail ? To give them extra breathing room for space, also easier to clean the cage as well.
@7hilladelphia2 жыл бұрын
Quail rise up fast and strong if startled, breaking their necks but low ceiling cage prevents death. Otherwise make a 5ft high A frame cage or just a 5,6ft high cage they can soar up and safely come down or if a high cage, have things they can land on, up high
@ReynaxisSolutions2 жыл бұрын
If you give them more space, they will have more legroom to roam around. They will spend energy that should be best reserved to laying eggs. The more energy they spend, the more they will eat. The more they eat because they are moving around, the more feeds you will buy. It's a bit unethical but that's just how things are.

Dexter, please find a way to add ventilation (hint: fans) to your animal housing. I have worked many years in commercial chicken houses and there was always large fans placed to cool the animals. They can die from heat prostration . They won't eat properly either. Don't get them too fat, as this also increases their body heat. I am trying to give you good hints. I am glad you are finding good success so far. Wish you the best.

Oh and don't forget this wire ground is not good for them their little feet get stuck use wood chips, ground or grass if you have the opportunity. If you offer them a happy life they can live up to 4-8 years. They will be very thankful and will give you in spring, summer and autumn everyday eggs. Hopefully it helps :)

Maya Narottam we’ll unfortunately quail are not good to free range due to them flying away. I put levels in mine so they can get away if they need to. They also get broody when they are bored, fighting over food, mating or are lacking space. During mating season you will see them loose a lot of feathers due to the males latching on to the back of their heads. I like to add ferns to my bird cages it gives them a place to hide and protection from the others.
