The strogg are probably some of the most underrated video game villains ever. They are a perfect mix of gruesome, disgusting, and terrifying. It looks excruciatingly painful to become one of them, and seeing not only their rotting forms, but their sickening flesh-cyborg machinery has been one of the few times a video game has actually made me feel sick to my stomach. I really love the strogg and they deserve more recognition.

QUAKE 4 is the best Quake Campaing if i have played on the Series. The planet, the war, stroggs, fight the makron, medical bay omg this scenes is brutal! Quake 4 Forever in Campaing, but the multi is Quake 3 always.

This game was way ahead of its time graphics-wise. You'd need up to 512MB or more of video memory if you wanted to play it on ultra settings.

TheLazyWanderer funny thing: more often than not, to actually see ultra graphics settings, you had to tweak some parameters in .INI file because for some reason, there was a bug which , by placing graphics on ultra in-game, still would give you muddy, washed picture.

No, it wasn't. Doom 3 was pretty much same technology, engine and graphics with 2002-2003 playable builds. Half-Life 2 was already ahead. And 2005 was a year of first demos on UE3, the actual next-gen with a bunch of 2006 full releases.

​@@walktroughman1952 Years after 2005 you mean like 5 games that was released on this engine? 4 of them was released by id Software or inside their own franchises... id Tech 4 was a failure from the commercial point that leads only to even worse id Tech 5 that was dead of arrival and modern id Software had to rewrite it almost from scratch for brilliant 6th version for Doom 2016. Ironically, John Carmack didn't tried to make id Tech 3 so popular, he tried it with id Tech 4 specifically. We all know how it turns out - hundreds of great games on id Tech 3 that is still have some parts of original code in their modern engines, like Call of Duty series.

The Strogg are just so badass. Like Borg but upgraded. Strogg harvester of Quake 4, Strogg Desecrator of Quake Wars and Strogg/Gladiator Strogg skin of Quake Champions are top tier in enemy design
