People are saying Quake copied off everyone while in reality everyone copied off Quake. If you think that Quake is copying off Overwatch, I just wanted to let you know that class-based FPS games also stemmed from Quake. Team Fortress 2's first game was Quake World Team Fortress. Also Quake 3 Arena was allegedly supposed to have different kinds of characters since all of them have different looks and statures. Some look tanky, some look very light and quick, and some were in between.

hey man, first time watching one of your vids, got linked here from the quake champions subreddit. i think you did a great job of outlining the game, and i agree. as a quake vet myself, i feel like this game represents quake so well while still adding some new elements that don't tarnish the core game. the abilities add some fun nuances, but it's still all about precision, predicting your opponents movements, and knowing the map. been loving the closed beta, and i hope QC helps relaunch quake into its rightful position as one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) multiplayer FPS of all time. great vid!

I get the frustration lot of you have with the new UT, but you need to also understand that its a passion project of a few people at Epic without a huge funding. And they also didnt even started development when they announced it in 2014. I think for the fact that its developed by 5-10 people(some of them help in their free time between Paragon and Fortnite) and some community members it came a long way. Hopefully the success of Quake Champions will convince higher ups at Epic to give them proper funding and team.

People LITERALLY said the same thing about Overwatch... and as a closed beta participant I can say that this game is still purely skill based, abilities seem more overpowered in videos than they actually are, and everything is very balanced except for just a thing or two. It's literally faster than Q3/QL and just shy of Quake World in terms of speed. This game will do great as long as the devs wont neglect it, which I am betting that they will not for a VERY long time.

Nice Video! Subed! Beta is made to improve the overall Quality of the game and that is what is happening atm. Just glad that it is all comming together for id Software. I dont play much game anymore but Quake and Doom are the foundation where all FPS games are built.

Q3dm6 remake looks amazing after watching you play for some time, was worried for the first few minutes. Really looking forward to playing this on release. Australian Servers were out the last Beta, felt so much better with a decent latency.

There's one thing I really miss from Quakeworld and that's being able spin 180, rocketjump off a wall and bunny hop around going in circles left or right or even backwards all over the map. I got so used to flying around the maps that way it feels like I'm being handicapped in QC. If they added that I'd play it a lot. Quakeworld's freedom of movement was second to none.

On what hardware is this video captured? I run a 1060 but i can't get it that smooth.

Damn.. this game holds so much memories.. Quake was the first multiplayer FPS game i ever played in my life.. which got me addicted to gaming.. gotta try this game
