That's just how software or hardware issues are a lot of the time. Sometimes they are a lot less noticeable, and other times they are a lot worse. Could be FPS could've been ping could be the server itself being a different one. Alsorts, but even when he's winning he is mentioning it feels off. Could be Agent whos known for maxing out his lagginess, hitboxissues etc. Dude is toxic asf. Not that rapha is raging hard when his rox are definetly not on point and need some aimrecovery but agent is heeella toxic. Play vs him and lead 8-0 and he likes to ragequit, or did accountsharing with fastdanoob to play in the qpl qualifiers. Russians are shady when it comes to configs and behaviour. You wont see Agent upload ever a loose. He gonna rage and insult you if you are ahead in a duel. p.s: i play q3 for 23 years and agent is not a guy you want to be around, thats why he and his goons stay in a circle. p.s.s: what i mean with configmanipulation and lagginess. its possible to show a 20-50 ping, not teleporting but u are teleporting and more like have a 80ms hitbox but a 20ms - tickrate, packets, cpu latency but i wont go deeper then that.

@@trynaplay2603 close but no cigar. Xonotic has autohop, acceleration values are all different, it's like Quake 1 movement but with quake 3 accel added. Like CPMA but CPMA is Quake 3 with Quake 1 air control added. Warfork is closer to Q3/CPMA movement but still not exactly the same. I think both are fun, but they aren't Quake 3.

@rapha did u try other PC? This games run on a calculator nowadays, I was getting 200 fps on a 10y old PC without GPU. You potentially could check if the problem is your location, cfg or maybe PC, depdneing on the results.

Something isn't right with QL or LEDs. Or both. I tried QL.sometime early 2010s. Just couldn't get the sensitivity working with steelseries mouse (can't remember which one) like it used to be in QA with intelli explorer and MX518 on CRT 100hz. Something is just off.

Try to change s_pvs to a different value. I think it either should be 1 or 0. You can know when it's bad when you can hear too much sound when spectating people. Then it means you need to change it to the other value.

Some people are playing since the times of dial-up, there is no way you can beat such vast experience on todays specs.

That doesn't mean much. Look at Chess. Modern pros are vastly superior in skills. The knowledge and techniques are accumulating, they aren't stagnating. In Quake, however, stagnation is quite huge because there are no new players. Not because they can't do anything, but because Quake is such a relic of the past, it's not financially supported and neither is promoted in any way. Ironically, the same thing was said after Q3 was released. Q2 pros were adamant that the new generation of players are low skilled scrubs and Q3 is also a dumbed down version of Q2. This happens every god damn time in different games. I'm absolutely sure that the influx of the new blood would drastically change the scene and help to improve and develop it in many new ways. The youth, motivation and fast adaptation with some good coaching (players like Rapha) could change the scene. But since there are no new players, the same old pros play it on about the same level. Same as SCBW Korean pros.

@@olodesu i agree with this, but what i had in mind was spinal reflexes, the technical side of combat in unstable/high latency environments, which did push and ingrain the whole battle awareness just a little bit further. In such a competetive game every little bit counts a lot. I remember all the rage about FPS vs Hz and how 240Hz is so much better than 144Hz, but back then it was all about what material is better for a mousepad and should you clean its ball or the dust inside its sprockets makes it run smoothier.

The game runs well on modern hardware lol. Limiting the fps to 166 and gsync/freesync creates input lag, it is better not to limit and leave 250fps.

These guys would Destroy Agent on Tier1 Tournament too While Rapha succesfully competed with all of these guys (at their Peak) For Years on Tier1 QC and QL tournaments, and once again, won about 15-20 (!!!) Tier1 QC + QL tournaments. Rapha competed vs Best of the Best Quake 1v1 players for about 15 Years Rapha at the moment (and most likely Forever) is the best 1v1 player in the ENTIRE History of Quake. While Agent at his Peak - is Only a POTENTIAL top 3-5 player in QC/pre-2017QL (when Quake Live was aLive)
