Been blessed to have my little Quaker for over 28 years now. He is looking pretty old, mostly blind and its been over 5 years since he could fly, but still loves his skritches and to play the games we have been playing since the day he picked me out. (jumped on me in a pet store and would not let go). These little birds are a blessing, a bit on the loud side if that is a bother (not to me).

@@813sunshyne First, you have got to spend time with him, the more the better and the more personality the bird will have. I came up with a greeting with my buddy and did it every time. It got to the point he knew how to ask for attention that way instead of screaming. It works! Find a way to play, birds love to play and learn. Learn when your bird is done, biting is a reaction to YOU being wrong ALWAYS. Do not punish a bird by yelling (contest) or angry action. Simply put them away and ignore them for 20 min. soo... much... more... if you are still interested let me know! More to tell!

I've just left a quaker parrot as i had to leave a flat of someone who i thought was a friend and she has a quaker parrot. And i fell in love with him. Such a beautiful lil babby. And he is a wild parrot. I had to sit and tell him that i felt so bad for leaving him with her but i had to as this person is not a good person whatsoever. I felt so very sad and felt like ive betrayed him somehow as he was starting to really love me. I am sincerely feeling quite bad about leaving him there with her. But he is her bird and i couldn't take him away from there. Really depressed me so badly. I'm going to miss him extremely badly 😢😔😢😢❤

If you learn his body language and respect his space you will get few bites. If your bird doesn’t want to interact or be pet, leave him be.
